Israel and Iran

Ceasefire is over. I guess peace in the Middle East will come another day.
The ceasefire was breached by Hamas on Tuesday as they began revenge killings of rival clans.

With Truce in Place, Hamas Pursues Bloody Crackdown on Rivals in Gaza

Glad the rest of the hostages and deceased were repatriated. But, the UK, France, and Canada, recognizing a leader less state was ridiculous. Hamas needs to be removed root and stem and then Gaza needs to be rebuilt under an occupation authority that educates the populace. The reality is withdrawing from Gaza in 2005 was dumb. But now Israel's neighbors want nothing to do with Palestinians. Yes we have hundreds of thousands of sympathizers in this country that if they are visa holders need to be deported. The rest idk what you do to them other than show that documentary to them over and over again.

Wait. Y'all mean to tell me a terrorist group used a peace treaty to solidify its hold on power via breaking that peace treaty? This group, working for the children, began merking out any and all opposition to that mostly peaceful terrorist group?

Fucking wild story, dudes.

From the river to the Zyklon-B showers, I guess.

To be honest, you know more I presume but I believe the Israeli government knew this would happen. They allowed their citizens to be slaughtered.

Change my mind.
I've heard that a bunch, but I don't think it fits the facts. And even if they knew--which I don't think they did--no one in the Israeli government forced Hamas to carry out that attack. Hamas is to blame, for all of it.

Let's say they knew, did they know the scope? or just assume it was the standard rocket attack?
Knowing, and knowing can be two different things.

This reminds me of the whole "FDR knew about Pearl Harbor and allowed it to happen..." argument which has been debunked over and over, but it still has traction.

This one time, not at band camp, in Afghanistan we were told to expect a heavy rocket attack, blah, blah, blah. Night passes, nothing happens, turns out the intel of a bazillion rockets was a cache of RPGs, not 107s and 122s.

You can be complacent, you can have good intel, bad intel, misinterpreted intel and people will still believe in a grand conspiracy. Not to say those don't exist, but sometimes its simply people being people and making poor decisions.

It's been covered here you can find my posts. The monitoring unit was some specialist all female unit under Shin Bet (Army Intelligence). There was a bunch of the complacency here, the echelons further up also didn't believe it could be that bad or whatever and just thought it routine shit or just hard to believe. Like what do you mean they're training with paragliders oh you mean 200 para gliders, not a fucking chance oh 300 paragliders? And then wham.
