Let's see that shooter

Can you show me numbers or links to them please? I need to see what's stock, what's not, prices between both, and how many manufacturers are present between the two.

@The Quartermaster , you good? This is the last thread that should be getting snarky between members. Similar to yourself, @Gunz is a longtime and well respected member here. His background (both military and civilian) offer him quite a bit of credibility, and unless I’m missing something, he does not deserve to be challenged in this way.

If you want to continue this, take it to PM where he can choose whether or not to engage, without being called out publicly.

Please and thank you.

If anyone is looking for a KAC 11.5" Upper, never shot, let me know. I'm going through a bunch of shit that I don't need. I have my 16" KAC built so that will suffice.

That video just tickles the absolute shit out of me. It has so much of the flavor of a Fort Bragg area gun dealer. Everyone in Fayetteville that works behind a counter would have you believe that they have more firearms knowledge than Eugene Stoner - and they will shamelessly give you bad information as though it is gospel.

Well.
A few weeks ago, I went into the Ft Bragg PX and proudly declared to the guy at the counter - "I am here to purchase the cheapest handgun in your display case"
...he looked at me like I was kidding; verily I say unto thee - I was not.
...he paused - taking in my steely eyed expression
...fearing the worst, he responded, "d'you mean the High Point?"

"Yes sir - the one down on the end; the Yeet Cannon"

My buddy went with me - he thought I was bluffing when I told him of my intentions. He now knows that I was NOT bluffing. As we finished the paperwork - the salesman had his supervisor come and witness the paperwork. Me and my buddy both started laughing when the supervisor was overheard saying to the salesman, "so somebody actually bought that thing"
They heard us laughing and you could tell that they were trying hard not to laugh. I assured them that if it had been "optics ready" I would have also purchased a red-dot for it "because this is still America"
It was the most fun I have ever had purchasing a firearm.

Then I took it to the range this weekend.
One of my buddies recently had a failure while shooting his 1911.
I have a Shadow Systems DR920P - it did not perform reliably out of the box.
Another one of my buddies has CR920P - it also did not preform reliably out of the box.
One guys has a Sig Legion that has given him problems.
One had a Sig 365 blow out the chamber while shooting handloaded ammo.
There was even a Smith & Wesson revolver that was starting to have light primer strikes.

Then there was my Yeet Cannon...
-It is ugly.
-It is heavy.
-It does not balance well in the hand.
-It only holds 8 rounds.
-It feels like you are trying to shoot a brick.
-It is the Napoleon Dynamite of handguns.
...but it goes "BANG" every time you pull the trigger.

...show up at a Fort Bragg area gun range on payday weekend with a 9mm High Point "Yeet Cannon"
...folks looked at me like I was a PV2 bringing an overweight stripper into the barracks on a Wednesday night.
...and by the time all was said and done, every one of them wanted their turn.

I had a Ruger P89, lovingly referred to as "the rattler." It was my second gun, this was...92? $250 I think. Same thing. People laughed at me, but damn if that thing wasn't the Timex of handguns: takes a linkin' but keeps on tickin'.

I bought a Ruger P89 at a pawn shop outside of Fort Huachuca over 20 years ago. Still have it. I've switched to the SIG P320 so I haven't shot that Ruger in a while, but if I did, it would still fire.

I also had a Ruger P89 - bought it a Fayetteville gun show back in the mid-90s.
It was one of only three handguns that I have ever purchased, fired, sold, and forgotten about.
The first was a budget ripoff of a 1911 made by 'Llama - it was stainless steel with plastic grips and shitty sights.
The seconds was my P89.
The 3rd was a Ruger SP-101 that I bought for my wife; she hated it so I traded in for a stripped AR15 lower.

-Now, I love me some Ruger Firearms - but their P' series pistols were probably the closest thing you could ever buy to a "High Point" from a major gun manufacturer. They are super reliable but just like the High Point, they are ugly, clunky, poorly balanced, and ugly. There's a good reason why the P85 never made it into the US Army trials to replace the 1911 - and the decision to build a gun that required you to stick your finger in the election port as part of the disassembly process just never really resonated with me.
-The SP101 never figured out if it wanted to be a full sized revolver or a compact and has never been good in either role; if you want a full sized Ruger revolver, just buy a GP100. Or a Security Six, or a Black Hawk, or a Red Hawk, or a Vaquero. Just stay away from the 101. If you want a "compact" then the all steel 101 simply does not reach 'fan favorite' status. In contrast, the Ruger LCR9 has been my go-to EDC for a few years now - so it isn't like Ruger doesn't know how to do some of the best revolvers on the market.
-Then there is that Llama 1911 clone. Broke-ass Army privates will buy just about anything if its cheap and shiny - and that Llama is a testament to that little character flaw.

...but seriously, that Yeet Cannon is a fucking conversation piece that simply cannot be fired without putting a smile on the shooters face.

Cheeky...
The video is pretty funny, as is all the various hate on certain brands in certain forums.

I'm not a stricker fire guy, for whatever reason -- rational or not. So, Glocks don't speak to me nor does the often ridiculed P320.

I've really owned just two pistols - Sig P229 and HKP2000. Both are fantastic: accurate, durable, and reliable. The HK has never had a malfunction after thousands of rounds. Similar with the Sig. The only malfunction I experienced with the Sig was due to some shitty ammo. As a result, I've never really felt need to look elsewhere...even after reading @Box's compelling review of the Yeet Cannon. 🙂 I'm a creature of habit in many ways. So, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
