My Random TV Thread

What a fucking BULLSHIT ending for this season's Walking Dead.

I personally think the entire series is crap, but my wife's a huge fan. Despite this odd pairing I follow the show online thought stories or whatever. After all of the build up and all of the hype, all of the interviews from the writers, actors, and showrunners...THAT was the ending?

WD jumped the shark last night.

TWD jumped the shark after the first season. That first season was stellar, afterwards it spiraled into an emo teenage angst fest. The show didn't just troll the fans, it absolutely went in rawdog and used the ensuing fluid spill as lubrication. I cannot wait to see that show die, unfortunately they will milk it for all it is worth.

PS: sorry for the mental imagery, but that show is a giant train wreck I cannot stop watching....

1. I tried watching it. Several times in several seasons. It packs 5 minutes of TV into an hour.
2. It has fantastic characters with compelling stories.
3. It has a fantastic premise and great story progressions (mainly locations and how they change the story).
4. The characters make some dumb decisions...pretty common for TV to build the story and suspense.
5. The writing is horrible and the show is boring. It is a plodding show with some gotcha moments to keep the viewers hanging on. It has a cult following and can more or less do whatever it wants and someone will trumpet the show.
6. The prequel show set on the west coast....same thing. Great characters and concept with a poor execution. I watched 3 or 4 episodes and it put me to sleep. Both series' pacing is atrocious.

Ragnar was my favorite character but the last season and current season they have made him so pathetic....

Yup. He needs to channel his inner berserker or die. It will be interesting to see if they follow the Norse sagas in the next season or two.

I've tried to watch the Walking Dead, and just can't get into it. Next up for serious TV:

- GoT Season 5 (I'm going by the DVDs - read all the books so don't have a strong burning need to find out "what happens next")
- Vikings
- Heard good stuff about The Man in the High Castle - can anyone confirm or deny?

And yes, Narcos is on Netflix's "win" list. While I'm sure some of it has "artistic license" applied, it seems like they put some real effort into keeping it in line with what actually went down.

I had the same reaction to Walking Dead. Nice for them, that so many followers helped it do so well.

Vikings is awesome. DareDevil Season 2 started out with a bang, unexpected softer season finale. Looking forward to Season 3.

I really enjoyed Narcos. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Looking forward to the coming season.
