My Random TV Thread

I couldn't get into Santa Clarita Diet. I thought it was poorly produced, and I couldn't stand Drew Barrymore.

Just finished Luke Cage last night. What a good series. I hope they make a second one. Debating between Homeland and Jessica Jones next.

Homeland for sure but it drags on the last couple seasons.

Haven't been able to catch much television lately but if I do I sneak in an episode or 2 of Shameless on Netflix. I must say it is quite hilarious especially with a glass of whiskey....or 4.

I really liked Homeland until I saw the previews for this season. It made it appear that they were gonna tackle the whole "not all Muslims are bad" plot device, coupled with the whole Trump like attack on civil rights  Just seemed like good ol Mandy Patinkin got his dick beaters onto the script and wrote his fantasy.

For the record, not saying they are all bad, I am just tired of that being used as a plot device to further some political agenda. Kinda like the movie "The American President" was a good movie, until you realized it was a bid at pushing gun control. Which is sad, cause otherwise I really liked the movie.

I'm only a couple episodes in and that is the total feel for it. I'll catch up and might finish this season but if this is the whole season; I'm writing it off as a no go.

I decided on the new Metallica documentary instead. Metallica: Some Kind of Monster on Netflix.

I've quit watching tv since LV's been in Alaska. Reading mostly, or writing. When I do turn on Netflix, I run 13 Assassins.

The trend of making sequels is out of control.

'Das Boot' sequel finds director

Set in the immediate aftermath of the original Das Boot (and the novel on which it was based), the series will expand on the concept of the original, depicting not just the German U-boat perspective but also encompassing the experiences of the French Resistance and Allied forces on land and at sea.

It sounds like a bucket of fail.

Andreas Prochaska commented: “Das Boot is a milestone in the history of anti-war films; it represents authenticity, suspense, drama, emotion and action. The series takes this one step further; it combines the claustrophobic atmosphere on the submarine with a strand set in the orbit of the resistance thus creating strong female characters.

Oh hell no.

It might not be everyone's sense of humor but I love 'Man Seeking Woman' on FX. It's essentially a series of daydream-like skits following a single-guy in the modern era. Some of the choices are stronger than others but overall every episode is funny - and some are masterful. The first season was fantastic, second still good, and the third is a different direction but incredibly strong. I highly recommend it if you liked stuff like 'Better off Ted' or 'Herman's Head' back in the day.

Been watching Underworld Inc. and Drugs Inc. @amlove21, we watched Season 1 over 4th of July weekend, if you remember. Lol. Season 2 is on Netflix now.
