Think SOF imperatives, specifically political implications and 2nd-3rd order effects. Coupled with letting civilians on a range is a post commander approved risk assessment (I'll assume this event didn't have all the right paperwork), coupled with often incorrect but still existing negative perceptions of SOF as rogues, Cowboys, womanizers, etc. Top that off with sensitivity on sexual harassment and EO in today's military where we want project a positive image of women. Coupled with negative blowback (2nd-3rd order effects) from media, YouTube, spouses, etc.

The biggest mistake: making a video. Never take video of anything that might be used against you as "exhibit A".

I don't think it's that big a deal.
This came out during SHOT, IIRC, and again IIRC, the models are wives of British Soldiers.
The approval process was fucked up, and making them pay for the fuel appropriate. Punishing Soldiers who were told Higher Hq approved this is wrong. The Officer who approved it without JAG/PA approving it is the only person (IMHO) who should be punished.

The other "misdeeds", who hasn't seen a dog and pony show where someone has driven a hummer 50 feet or so in a demo?

Not having a letter of approval bites them in the ass; hopefully the next NCO to get tasked for something like this demands a copy of the approval e-mail.
I wonder if the next Dallas Cowgirls Military Photo Shoot or USO tour will get cancelled now? maybe we shouldn't let Miss America do USO shows?

I understand they didn't actually have permission, and the appropriate legal documents were not generated/signed. I still think people are too up-tight. The same people whining about this video are also pissed about your tattoo.

I agree with both Viper and DA SWO. People are too uptight, but at the same time, as a SF soldier you gotta have the SA to realize the climate you're in. Just because people need to pull the stick out of their ass doesn't mean you can ignore that dynamic.
