Im waiting on my NSW physical in order to attend BRC. I sent my waivers up to Bumed to be reviewed about 2.5 weeks ago. When I checked on my status. I was told it is at HQMC. Do NSW's usually go through HQMC?

The Bureau of Naval Medicine makes a recommendation but all USMC NSW physical waivers are adjudicated by the Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies, and Operations (DC PP&O) at HQMC.

BUMED can’t approve or deny a waiver. They only make a recommendation. BUMED did not recommend my dive physical waiver after I was wounded. DC PP&O waived it anyway.

Good luck, unfortunately that stuff doesn’t move fast. Depends on the waiver though I suppose.
