Howdy, my name's Gus. : I'm currently en route to going into the Marine Corps to become a scout sniper or something of the works. I've read in some places that the position was becoming a dinosaur and merging with reconnaissance marine, which I don't mind, but it is still my goal to be a Marine Corps sniper. It's great to be here, and it'd be great if any veterans or current snipers could give me their advice on how things work since I'm genuinely out of the loop at the moment. but our youth are okay and we have nothing to fear because clearly the ability to write has nothing to do with fighting the chinese or taliban or whoever becase silly education has no place on the battlefield and all of the good medal of honor men didn't have an education and who needs that because being a veteran means companies will hire me and ill learn life skills in the military when i didnt learn them before because now i have discipline and now my life matters because everything before basic training my life was meaningless but now i have a uniform so im at least as smart as a doctor or something and im smart and people like me so learning is something i should forward to and i only learned how to type on my phone and it doesnt have a shift button or anything period

I don’t think snipers still exist in the infantry battalions. Not like it was before anyway.

Yeah that seems to be the case. I recently seen a video by the Ex scout sniper Ethan Nagel, and it was a video posted last year on how to become a scout sniper in the marine corps so I'm sure that type of position is still around just not emitting the same glory as it once did. I'll make sure to speak with my recruiter about it the next time we meet.
