Royal Marines Commandos: New Mission and Uniform

I still stay in touch with a couple of fellas with whom I served when I/we did the exchange, and although they are all out now (because they are old like me) they feel similarly about the changes as our Marines do about the changes in the Marine Corps.

Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron are the first on the ground, often operating far behind enemy lines. They are the eyes and ears of the Commando Force.

The Royal Marines have been getting hands-on experience with their newest weapon – the Knight's Stoner rifle, better known as the KS-1. The KS-1, which is designated L403A1 in British service, boasts a muzzle signature reduction system, an improved optical sighting system and can be fired from the left shoulder more easily than the current L85 assault rifle.
