Star Wars - ** SPOILERS ** discussion thread

My immediate opinion was he was lying. However that little boy at the end who used the force to grab the broom may show the direction they want to go with force users. That it doesn't have to be children of those that can manipulate the force. So Rey's parents being just random drunks seems to be more possible.

Funny.. I saw this as a Disney ploy for marketing the new Star Wars themed park and having kids be rebels and force users.. Similar to Harry Potter land at universal.

20 years you say...hmmm, when did that happen? Three years, sure. But the work existed, and they're still selling the shit out of them. However, the point is, whatever this crap is, it's poorly executed.

Take it for what you will, the Legends Canon, for most people, maybe not you, is the Canon. Also, like I said, doing this bullshit of moving away from the Skywalker lineage would have been ok...if it was executed well rather than redoing A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.

It wasn’t the best but it wasn’t awful.

You guys all need to chill the fuck out.

The gravity bombs is something to bitch about? In a movie about space magic? Ok...

I get the rage, as a LOTR nerd I absolutely hated the Hobbit movies. Still refuse to rewatch them to this day. Do I realise my stance on a fantasy movie with dragons, elves, humans, and midgets, etc., with a plot dynamic just as complex as say an episode of Blues Clues is a little childish? Yeah. Do I care? Not really, those movies are an abomination and a stain upon the earth. Purge it with fire!}:-)

But yeah, the movie was just decent not something I'd go out of my way to watch again at all. About on par as TFA.

To quote you: "Come on man..."

If you take your Star Wars geekdom seriously, gravity bombs and who can wield a lightsaber are exactly the type of tangents you're going to get wrapped-around-the-axle on! LOL
