All they did was change the name to UAP so they could "reset" the timeline.

The US government ACKNOWLEDGED the existence of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and nobody got all that worked up about it.
People took over a police department by force - burned a bunch of US cities - and our politicians even kneeled in support of it...
...not because of UFOs and UAPs but because a career criminal that just overdosed on illicit drug during the commission of a crime died in police custody
