The thing is whether this was part of the planned flight path or not. If I was cleared to do a convoy on I24 but I detoured to go hang out at the Titans Stadium, I'd get my ass hemmed up. Our movement management shop dealt with it all the time at JFHQ.

That said, crews get in trouble for fly-bys all the time. It's not a big deal. SECWAR undercutting the command team inherently makes this a big deal and amplifys the politics of it.

It is not OK for members of the military to use military time, equipment, and prestige to engage in politically-tinged attention whoring.

Agree. I'm not upset but the left is using it politically, which in itself is a consequence for this administration. Hegseth shouldve just announced that this would be addressed by the chain of command and then said no more.

Somewhere in the middle east, tech giants are being "threatened" while Donald Trump uses his helicopters to entertain Kid Rocks private party guests in what was most likely a political fundraiser to pay for Trumps 2028 reelection campaign.
