I've found, and history supports me on this, that a person's desire to go to war is directly proportional to how little of war they've experienced. Some albino looking dude who probably hasn't seen the sun in 3-4 business years yammering on so excitedly about going to war would be little more than a bullet sponge in an actual gunfight.

Their entire online identity is devoted to slacktivism or actual "resistance" that they share endless photos and endless footage and some "influencer" echo chamber. Bonus "revolutionary" if they're calling out anyone not left of center to answer for things and have open commenting turned off, thinking that they got us and owned the repubs.

Meanwhile my profile picture on facebook is of my wife and I when we were first in love and my cover photo is of my mom, my grandmother, and and my grandfather. On National Dog Days it's of my malamute and German Shepherd, and Veteran's Day is me in uniform. Memorial Day is an actual picture of Arlington after a burial that I was an escort for. But that's it.

It really is sad that they cannot let themselves be normal and enjoy life on their social medias.

Thanksgiving weekend—a time for family, food, and the delightful spectacle of political theater. It's been a neat year - and I am Thankful for it - but it seems like politicians and celebrities - the most well to do and spoiled fucking rotten of ALL aMEricans - still don't get it.
Damn if it doesn't make for a GREAT holiday season though. I'm gonna break it down the best way I know how...

Let's kick this off with the annual "Presidential Pardon" of the Thanksgiving Turkey.
This year, it was done of sound mind and body.
Last year's turkey should have been fed to the poor - since last years pardon was probably auto penned.
...but right after giving the turkey a pardon, PRESIDENT Trump decided that without a turkey, he would need to "roast" his political detractors.
...and what a fine roasting it was

Thankfully - congressional gridlock ended in time for government employees to be able to pay for their thanksgiving feast without maxing out their credit card to pay for groceries. Pfft - I always say, "the opposite of PROgress in CONgress"
Moving on...

Then endless social media rants from our "adult-in-the-room" politicians and celebrities as they stoke sedition and hatred with posts to remind us of how much they hate each other - while posting NOTHING to comfort us with thoughts that they are looking out for the best interests of hard working, tax paying, American Citizens. Leading the charge of course was a retired Naval Officer that decided to get into polyticks. I'm loving how he felt it to be his duty to encourage uniformed officers to refuse orders that they deemed "unlawful"
...because we all know that boot camp includes a block of instruction on military law
...and that the rank and file troops can just decide what's right and just even though congress is in constant dead lock
...the same democratic congress that couldn't be bothered stand to applaud a fucking kid dying from brain cancer

Meanwhile, the rest of Americas sociopolitical elite feasted on their usual fare of hypocrisy because nothing says “Happy Thanksgiving” quite like throwing the military’s chain of command into disarray by urging our troops to disobey orders. While families across the nation were carving turkeys, Kelly was busy carving out a niche as the poster child for political recklessness. His call for insubordination is a delightful reminder of how far some politicians will go to score points with their base, even if it means undermining the very fabric of military discipline.

SECWAR can change that, but has not. As I posted much earlier Signal is explicitly banned for use by the DoW. Because of that I'm a little perplexed why we don't have a memo rescinding the use of Signal, especially in light of these events.

Back to your point, I do not know because I have to conduct my business via Teams on a gov't provided computer/ virtual machine, using my CAC for authentication. I also do not know how it works with a gov't issued phone which I'd expect SECWAR to possess unless he's "running his own email server" so to speak.
 
Signal is the most abused group chat in the entire government enterprise.

It isn't just "mildly abused" - it is the "GO TO" solution when you need an explicitly banned digital program to support a group chat on privately owned cell phones. Besides not everybody "rates" a gubmint cell phone - and when you cant put gubmint software on a personal phone but you can download Signal for free - why NOT blatantly disregard orders that aren't real orders ???

Who knows, maybe that asstronut guy was right - "JUST SAY 'NO' TO SIGNAL CHAT"
