This isn't politics or touching grass. I pride myself on tech knowledge and I missed that exchange. I stand by my assertion that DoW's chat app guidance hasn't made it to our level*, but the tech stuff? That's my L to bear. My knowledge and research didn't get this one right and I deserve the hit.

* "Our level" meaning the guidance hasn't passed to Ech II because the services actually do some things counter to DoW directives (or maybe that latitude is allowed...I don't know), OR the memo never made it past Ech II (again, some latitude is granted or taken and ignored by higher, but we never know those limits).

I honestly think there hasn't been really any DOW guidance and that everyone is just doing what they think is right. My wife on the Air Force side said they are being pushed to Baseconnect, but that looks like a generic info dump guidance down to airmen platform opposed to something more like signal. SOCOM was trying to use Wickr a while back when the only other people using it were OGA, but then in about 2022 they got rid of the consumer version. Now it's back with the enterprise version called WickrGov. I'm pretty against using hyper focused solutions because it makes it hard to obfuscate in a modern UTS environment when you can just look to see who the people you are looking for are using the same app on your networks...

I think WickrGov is an alright messaging app with direct messages and rooms you can manage, but a few of my soldiers are not even through their pipelines yet and might not have CACs, so it means we are more or less forced to use RCS to disseminate anything. Seems like this is in the opposite direction of intent.

Rob Reiner being a far left liberal has never been a secret. That said, I’ve always considered his comments to be mostly measured and well thought out.

Based on the president’s comments about Reiner, I sought out Reiners’s comments on Charlie Kirk.

I was surprised by the class and grace in which he showed.

Meathead's politics aren't what got him killed - a broken family member killed him.
Now, because of our national desire to hero worship, we will spend DAYS turning this into a circus that drives an even BIGGER wedge into the social divide while desensitizing people to this kind of shit even more.
