The Trump Presidency 2.0

Its obviously edited by VF, but I was (sarcastically) referring to the actual article.
Yeah I've read part 1, it's pretty in depth. But like is their any newspaper or magazine that would do a profile on anyone in the administration and cast them is a positive light? Like her quotes aren't bad. But the context is where I can see it's a hit piece. But I would say Republicans shouldn't have reacted.

Susie Wiles' story is wild for 900 reasons. I have been a big fan of her since Trump 1... I have no clue what is going on.

Have you read part 2? So far a bit of a nothingburger from part 1.

Did I miss any major announcements? I only caught the very end of the speech where he was taking credit for the upcoming World Cup and Olympics being in the US.

I think we'll slip back into politics as usual when Trump leaves office. The establishment will reorganize and go back to business as usual, quietly ripping off the tax payer and then retreating to the private millionaire lounge to laugh at us and drink expensive scotch together. The good ole boys of the uniparty will undo a lot of Trump's shenanigans. All the anti Trump rhetoric over the last 10 years has been mostly just a fight to keep the uniparty together and Trump was a disruption to business as usual.

$'1776.00
I'm sure the troops will welcome the money. I know I would. But if I were still in, there are things I think all of that money (something like $2.5B?) could be better spent on:

1) accountability for the way Afghanistan ended
2) mold out of the barracks
3) reforming the VA
4) fixing whatever the perpetual fuckup is with the chow halls
5) IT updates so that systemd
6) reducing training requirements
7) stamping out the last vestiges of DEI, and making standards the same for both genders

I've seen some comments claiming this is where the money is actually coming from. Not sure if it's just another fake news jab at Trump.
I made the Fort Irwin hotel take two of my soldiers and their families in when I found mold in their housing units, to which housing paid for and then completely leveled them and rebuilt again. They took black mold seriously. But they were contracted out nowadays and maybe saw this as easy money.

I'm reading that some of the 1776 money is coming from the defense budget and specifically from housing allowance. If true, I agree with @Marauder06 that the housing deficiencies should be addressed first. Soldiers may want the cash to spend on motorcyle payments, but taking care of troops requires leaders to make less popular decisions.

But those things take effort to address systemic problems. Much easier to change the PT tests again and ban beards.
