Forget about the political party and just vote against the candidate that's going to fuck you the hardest - I'm pretty sure your ballot will still look relatively "partisan" because one party historically fucks you harder than the other party...

BUT - if I got wrapped around the "promises made, promises kept" axel, I'd have ended up in the nut house two or three elections into adulthood. Life is too short to worry about the one that got away.

I've been down with this thought in the past, but when he almost immediately said "why are we still talking about Epstein" , I could feel a little bit of MAGA leaving my soul.

The funniest part about all of this is they did it to themselves. It was such a talking point not just for Trump but so many prominent Republicans. They built it up and we can play the game of "what did you expect" and all of that blaming We the People, but they hung their hats on promise after promise.

They could have downplayed the whole thing during the campaign and this wouldn't be a topic. They made it a topic and given that kids are involved I think we have the right to be pissed over the whole deal. We have the right to call them out. Now, some people might vote against a post-Trump Republican, some might choose someone who isn't affiliated with Trump, and some might stay home and not vote at all.

This is an L for the admin no matter how you slice it.

Sad, really. DeNiro has soiled his legacy as one of the greatest ever by being a POS to half of his fans, and Glenn Close is also a great actress (IMO) Now she's going down that same road. Did anyone ever take Ringwald serious?

I have known some dudes in the unit, but thanks to time and getting old, now know exactly one, and he's out soon. He was not on this event, but he told me that based on what his colleagues have said, this dude is a legit Mark 1 Mod 0 stud first class with oak leaf clusters. He told me, "if half of what gets made public is true, it's worth the Medal." Sounds like a deserving fella.
 
Those helicopters are giant magnets for surface fired threats and when they are delivering troops on target - that giant, ugly, gravity defying mass of chaos has to be held still while troops bleed out the ass end. Those fucking helicopters have to be big because they aren't just carrying a belly full of assaulters - that huge ugly helicopter has to carry the GIGANTIC balls of the fucking guys that sit there at the stick - with hands as steady as a fucking neurosurgeon - and hold that mother fucker on target while a couple dozen armed men go down the rope...
...twitch the stick, and you start tossing bodies off the rope
...one twitch of that stick and what turned out to be the coolest fucking operation in the entire history of cool military operations turns into a tragic failure
...this guy didn't sit there and start thinking about his own problems
...this guy showed up to work that morning knowing that he had to go fly the living shit out of one of the biggest clumsiest fucking helicopters in the US inventory

Think about this the two biggest "helicopter assaults" that people think about when they think about cool helicopter assaults - both ended up with a crashed helicopter in the target compound.
This guy said FUCK THAT - these mother fuckers needs some freedom and I am here to deliver it !!!

Anybody that has been on one of those big, dirty, noisy, lumbering pigs at that moment you hear "ROPES" knows how fucking important it is for 'the guy in the front' to "show up" and if ever there was a guy in the front that "showed up" - it was "THIS" guy.

If being able to call this CW5 one of your countrymen doesn't give you an immediate freedom boner - all I can say is - you suck.

Apparently it’s a common trait with these guys. Back in the day we were supporting a major hostage rescue mission and the lead 160th pilot was shot in the leg, continued the mission and reported his injury once it was all over and we were about to fly home. Ended up operating on him in flight to Germany. I heard later that he returned to flight status which is extremely satisfying. One of my top five favorite memories of my career.
