If you want people to abandon the coldness of rugged individualism and embrace the warmth of collectivism, or whatever, you have to take their guns first.

The Canadian Left follow the same playbook. Except they are further along. The current Prime Minister and many members of his party are blatantly compromised by the CCP, Muslim Brotherhood, IRGC, Khalistani "indepence" movement, Antifa, Trans Tits for All and any throw in and other extremist or mentally ill group you can think of.

Relatedly unrelated, if you want a bolt gun with a free 10mm pistol, Springfield's got a deal going on for one of their nicer bolts. I'll probably be picking one up.

I got that email the other day as well. Its a really great deal but I just bought a comparable Christensen Arms bolt gun in 7 RM over the Christmas Holidays.

I wish the SA deal included a .30-06 option. - I'd gladly dump the money to have a Springfield Rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield and could probably talk mama into NOT being mad about buying "another" bolt gun.

They do have some pretty nice options though - and it's a good strategy - for the cost of a 2020, giving away a 10mm XD-M is still going to net them some profit while thinning the factory inventory on a reliable pistol that just isn't selling very well.

Plus - when you can carry a reliable 10mm pistol into the same woods that you'd go into with a .300 PRC or .300 WM - the price for both guns can't be beat !!

"Federal law already trusts retired police officers to carry concealed nationwide. That makes sense. But it makes no sense that an active or retired SEAL or Green Beret, someone who spent a career mastering firearms under the most demanding conditions in the world, has no equivalent recognition under federal law," said Congressman Harrigan. "This bill fixes that. It does not create new rights or weaken any safeguard. It simply extends an existing, proven framework to the warriors who have earned it more than anyone."

Nope. They specifically state what duty positions qualify for it.

“(h) Qualified special operator.—For purposes of this section, the term ‘qualified special operator’ means a current or former military service member with a most recent paygrade of E5–E9, W1–W5 or O1–O10 with a DD–214 or military service record that confirms service in one or more of the following roles:

“(1) Service in the United States Army Special Forces as—

“(A) a Special Forces detachment commander;
“(B) a Special Forces detachment warrant officer;
“(C) a Special Forces weapons sergeant;
“(D) an Special Forces engineer sergeant;
“(E) a Special Forces medical sergeant;
“(F) a Special Forces communications sergeant;
“(G) a Special Forces intelligence sergeant; or
“(H) a Special Forces operations sergeant.

“(2) Service in the United States Army 75th Ranger Regiment as—

“(A) an infantry officer;
“(B) an infantryman;
“(C) an indirect fire infantryman;
“(D) an infantry senior sergeant; or
“(E) a combat medic specialist.

“(3) Service in the United States Navy SEALs as—

“(A) an officer qualified in special warfare; or
“(B) an enlisted member who served as a special warfare operator.

Seems like there are some weird omissions. A combat medic assigned to 75th qualifies, but a combat engineer doesn't?
Section 6 is weird too, because you'd think some direct support roles like RTO/medic would be included.
