Hopefully this story has a happy ending.
SUMTER, S.C. -- A captain who disappeared from Shaw AFB in December and who the Air Force Office of Special Investigations considers a potential deserter has been arrested in Alabama.
Capt. Robby Williams, who works in U.S. Air Forces Central Command's communications directorate, was arrested in Dothan, Ala., by the U.S. Marshal's Service, according to the U.S. Marshal's office and the Air Force Times.
After Williams failed to show up for work at Shaw on Dec. 23, the Air Force announced he had deserted and was "eluding authorities involved in his search."
Williams had been staying in hotels in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia and was seen purchasing large amounts of alcohol, the Air Force said.
Security officers in the Air Force want to question Williams because of "the sensitive nature of his position," the Air Force Times said.
