Found my one rep max for squats today, 185#'s. I am one year out from the last spine surgery now. Have been back training a bit more regularly. Have also started a 40 day regimen of some selective peptide therapies. To promote a better healing process.
Have been doing work on just getting strong. Along with the carnivore diet, 11 months now. Been having very positive results.

Got the rope knotted and hung. Saw surgeon for the last time today. Heard climbing a rope was supposed to be good for you. I just don't want to bust my ass.
It has been a very long road. Praying for no more surgeries for at least a few more years. Thanks to all here who have been supportive over the years IMG_4352.jpegIMG_4353.jpeg

Since my surgery, I'm down to 204 with massive energy. My Paratrooper knees, back and shoulder still hurts bit no where's close to before.

I've been doing the typical push-ups, sit ups, that stuff but haven't noticed much muscle, some but not enough.

Was looking at gyms but I despise crowds/people.

The other day, our neighbor, my age, a jacked looking dude was outside, I ask him if he owns a gym.

As a matter of fact, he trains at a local, small family style gym a low crawl away from us, I pass it day in and day out, great reviews and I was actually going to look into it.

Neighbor gives me a number to his friend, a new trainer that is looking for clients.

I start weight training at 18:00, I'm stoked.

We must have a psycho or whatever relationship Bro! Your post caught me in the middle of shoulder presses and rope hangs.
Come out and visit my friend, outside gym is what's up!
To build muscle you have to prgressively overload your muscles. Then feed and rest them. I am sure that you are going to do great👍🏽

Looks like a sick set up. Will do brother!!!

As an aside and not to minimize anything. Just saying that if you have a way to work on a rope. It takes training to a next level. I made it about 20' before I pooped out. Just enough left for a controlled descent. Using it as a negative rep of sorts.

These HR data points from an apple watch and my iphone. Are just one of the tools used. To track my progress or decline in fitness. There are several features that have proven very vauable. As all of the separate data is filtered through the apple fitness app. IMG_4761.png
Today I used a five minute between sets interval. Which seemed to help better than just waiting for my HR to drop to 100bpm.
I was able to get 6 pulls up the rope with 5 knots per set twice. The knots are 16" apart. So it has gotten easier.
Goal is to tap the tree at the top by my birthday in July.

@Muppet first of all you look great, and great work.

Second, stop crunches/sit-ups. All they will do is kill you back. Planks are your friend.

I am not a gym guy, either. I have a driveway gym like "The Old Man" but not nearly as robust and don't use it nearly as much I used to. Zone 2 cardio is your friend, and incorporate HIIT.

If you like I have some workouts from Tactical Mountain Institute I am happy to email, as well as Pat McNamara's CST program.

CST is an awesome program! Seems like I attain a better result with 4 basic compound lifts, incline bench, military press, deadlift, squat. Alternating with bands, tires, rope, heavy bag. Use two 3 gallon chicken watering containers for farmers carries. Also do alot of balance work on two parallel cedar logs ~4" in diameter. That are about 12" off the ground.
Got hooked on what the Bioneer channel on yt was doing. Which has been a game changer for several other people I know as well.
Muscle confusion hs worked awesome so far.

All of this aside though. I wouldn't be here today doing anything. If not for the relationships and support. From members of ShadowSpear 👍🏽 Y'all helped me save my life.

Thanks for the kind words BTW!

Legs/circut training with cardio. Fucking trainer murdered us.

So, end of class, we're all licking our wounds, dude is standing there staring at my forearm ink (2/325 with jump wings) and he says, "figures, fucking 325".

I'm like, what about it homie! He was 319th attached to the 504th as an FO during the same time I was there.

Small world.
