I read the article. I think that guy needs to go back to IR 101 and re-read "balance of power theory." The UK should have waited LONGER, so the Germans were even MORE entrenched on the Continent, before they got involved on the ground? :-/

Then Germany might very well have won the war, or at least ended on advantageous terms...which means Hitler wouldn't have had the incentive or support to do what he did. I'm not crazy about these "what if" scenarios because the possibilities are like an explosion, thousands of fragments flying every which way in all directions. It makes about as much sense as asking what if saber-tooth tigers had eaten all the cavemen.
