Years ago, we were in field, me and line dogs. A cherry PFC new to unit, calls me a POG.
2 line squad leaders and 2 tabbed team leaders hear, freak out, proceed to murder cherry for 2 hour period.
Then, they had cherry attached to my hip, carrying my aid bag along with his ruck on a 12 miler. Lol.
I think he learned his lesson, I took pity on the cherry, took it back about half way after trooping the line, permission from tabbed guys first.
Fun times.

That is a two-way street. We had a new corpsman check in, and he thought he didn't have to do anything except corpsman stuff. He really was off-putting. The Marine leadership approached me and our chief to ask what they should do. We said, "teach him a lesson."
They hazed him pretty good, but he learned the value of teamwork and integration. He turned out okay, but it was touch and go in the beginning.
