Greetings all.

I'm a former USAF avionics maintenance puke ('77-'04). I worked RF-4C from 1977-1980 at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, TX. I then PCS'd to Torrejon AB, Spain where I worked C130s, C141s and C5s.

I got off AD in 1983 and joined the reserves where I found out about and went work as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) at Kelly AFB in San Antonio, TX. I like to tell everyone that I was the last person hired in the Instrument/Autopilot Shop because I had C130 experience and the first one hired because I had C5 experience (The 433rd had just been told they were transitioning from 130s to C5s). I worked there until 1989 when I got a job "across the runway" at the SA-ALC depot. That's were I rounded out my Avionics experience working C5s.

I really loved that job, buuuuut BRAC happened and I transferred with the C5 to Robins AFB, GA in 1998. Coincidentally, I retired from the reserves in 1998 and became a "straight civilian". I worked in maintenance at Robins until 2004 when I got a job as an Equipment Specialist, so now I sit behind a computer all day. Somedays I'd give anything to get back on the flight line...
