After 15 seasons, Naval Academy’s winningest football coach is relieved of duty

Air Force typically has a pretty good football team. The thing is, no one wants to watch them play one of the other Academies. That's why the Army/Air Force game can, for example, be played at Army's home stadium. In non-COVID times, the Army/Navy game has to be played in a major NFL-size stadium.

Air Force is the "NCAAA division II" of Academy football. Sorry folks.
FIFY

CG Academy is the WNBA of Academy football.

This isn't really true. While Mountain West isn't exactly the strongest conference in the NCAA, the Air Force has only 2 losing seasons (2017 and 2018) since 2014. They're 9 - 3 this year and will play in the Armed Forces Bowl, their 3rd Bowl game in 4 years - they won the previous two Bowl games.
Man really? (looks...CIC Trophy winner in 2022)

Actually, when West Point joins a conference so they can't choose even creamier puffs than they are to beat up upon to create artificially good seasons, we can talk. :p Both USAFA and USNA compete in conferences which makes things more difficult. But you know it's an amazing year if they win their conference.

Army and Navy have dominated the Commander in Chief's cup for awhile, those two games are the only ones that matter.
Hate to break it to you all, fellas, but Air Force owns the Commander in Chief's Trophy and dominates overall with 21 to Navy's 16 and Army's 9. Just sayin'.

The Academies are the WNBA of football though. Tuscaloosa isn’t worried about Annapolis.

Damn.

Speaking of coaches not buying their own stock and leaving for a bigger job at the right time. Jeff Monken should probably take the next mid-major job that comes sniffing for him.
