Don't Thank Me, Thank Disney

I think we can all agree Prince is one of the greatest but then you remember this is his first top 40 hit and not only did he play all of the instruments in this and sang the backing vocals he also produced the entire thing.

Any country fans on here? One of my favorite artists to just sit down and relax to is a guy named Jesse Rice.

This song shows he deserves to be a household name along with every other person in it. Here's a hint about who they are, one is named Chase and the other are in a semi famous band called Florida Georgia Line. Jesse wrote Cruise.

Anyways, here is my favorite jam

Get some.

The lyrics fucking smash, too.

Immunity, long overdue
Contagion, I exhale you
Naive, I opened up to you
Venom in mania
Now, contagion, I exhale you

The deceiver says, he says
You belong to me
You don't wanna breathe the light of the others
Fear the light, fear the breath
Fear the others for eternity
But I hear them now, inhale the clarity
Hear the venom, the venom in
What you say inoculated
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity

Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy

Enumerate all that I'm to do
Calculating steps away from you
My own mitosis
Growing through delusion from mania

Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy

Forfeit all control
You poison, you spectacle
Exorcise the spectacle
Exorcise the malady
Exorcise the disparate
Poison for eternity
Purge me and evacuate
The venom and the fear that binds me

Unveil now, lift away
I see you runnin'
Deceiver chased away
A long time comin

For me it depends on the type of Country, I'm a huge Country music nerd of everything before the early 00's. The 10's up to now has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth however. Except for people like Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton and the group Midland but they're the exception not the norm for country music right now atleast in my opinion.

This is currently my jam modern country wise

I really dig the song you posted though, makes me think of a modernized Highwayman.

I really like Jamey Johnson, Cody Jinks, and Chris Stapleton. The old crow medicine show is good, several artist (Americana, Red dirt or Texas Country) that don't make the airways but have the traditional outlaw country sound/story telling.

Wheeler Walker Jr, makes me laugh my ass off, but not something you can just run around with wife and kids in the car on your play list.

Probably my favorite Chris Stapleton song, right up there with fire away for me.

My favorite Cody Jinks right up there with I cast no stones.

My favorite Jamey Johnson song (a Waylon original but better IMO) right up there with can't cash my checks.
