Ecuador

Oi. I'm not sure what this thread is. šŸ¤£

It's about Ecuador - have you not been paying attention?
-This thread is about the chaos in Ecuador!
-It's also about how the charachters from a 60 year old Oscar winning Disney movie can serve as a metaphorical connection to the situation in Ecuador.

...and to a MUCH lesser extent - Guardians of the Galaxy Part II - there are a few unrelated posts about Guardians of the Galaxy Part II that don't really have anything to do with Ecuador - so even though we may have briefly derailed from the original topic due to me posting a movie clip of a reference to Mary Poppins, it is one of the better films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (just my opinion).
...good movie though.

But that shit going on in Ecuador - damn!
Just... damn.

Is that wheelchair fight taking place in Ecuador?

Why don't they spell it "Equador?

It would have been a much better video if the wheelchair boxing was definitely in Equador and somebody was dressed up like Mary Poppins.
...just sayin'

Like some of my past Friday nights, not sure how this ended up in "Ecuador" or "Equador"...I was never that picky.

Paging @Ooh-Rah to perhaps move this to the correct thread.

...not sure how this ended up in "Ecuador" or "Equador"

You just need to figure out how to tie that video into the discussion...
...like this:

"Hey, check out this video that I found on the interwebz - it's a great metaphor for the situation in Ekwadoor"
-The two fighters represent the poor oppressed people of Quito.
-Fighting to stay viable in a landscape that is rife with crime and and hobbled by a failing economic system.
-Surrounded by a hostile border like so many ropes around a boxing ring.
-Unable to even defend themselves; fighting under conditions that are beyond their control; their position decided arbitrarily by a force that claims to be part of the fight while remaining immune to the sting of so much as a single jab from those doing the fighting
-Surrounded by those that treat this violence like sport; gambling on the outcome for fun.
-All the while being subjected to "the rules" by a referee that dances around smiling and happy; a hapless authority figure that loves to laugh; loud, and long, and free.
-Truth be told, what they really need is a savior; someone to float in on a magic umbrella; someone to save them from their dreary unhappy existence; someone that will give them both a spoonful of sugar to help their medicine go down.

BAM - now that video has a connection to the situation in Eckquadoor.
