I've been a "Lurker" on this site for the past few days, after stumbling upon it. I've been searching for physical training advice (Anyone here get bone fractures?) and tips on building an EOD package. So far, it's been the most helpful site Google has to offer.
Now about me. I'm still new to the USN, just past 2 years. I joined with an EOD contract, but was Med dropped soon after boot, due to some rebellious shin bones. After months of medical hold, I was allowed to choose between CM (Seabee) or Undesignated. Seeing as "Undesignated" was our instructor's favorite horror story, I chose CM. Since then I've been to Port Hueneme CA, for "A" School, Gulfport MI for ECS, and finally CORIVRON 3, San Diego CA. I'm currently on my first deployment in Dubai, enjoying the sand and smells of Jebel Ali.
My ultimate goal is to get back into the EOD program and get that pin.
Thanks for having me.

Greetings.

I can't be of much help in gauging your odds on getting picked up and to dive school, since I'm former Army EOD, but if you've got any questions about EOD school and general I'd be happy to answer them as best I can.

I'll take you up on that offer, racing_kitty. I know what to expect and train for, for the most part, as to the physical side of prep and dive school. (The worst I can think of, mixed with a instructor who's in an energetic mood. Hah) It's the academic side of EOD school, that I know almost nothing about. From what I've read on this site sofar, basic electricity, circuits, AC, DC, etc, are the recommended basics.
