Apologies for not finding this part of the forum first.

Have followed some of the forums on here from a distance for a little while. Recently came back across it due to an interest in TACP/ALO on the ANG front. Simply trying read thoughts from some similarly minded individuals and keep abreast of some topics I don't see other places. I live in a pretty liberal part of a very conservative state, but luckily, even when many things don't make sense, at least they love their military. Bless Texans for that one.

Did a shortened term Active duty in the AF, looking to correct that and stay longer with the ANG, and serve my state and country.

From the Feinstein coast... I got took to heart Sen. David Crockett's take on things "Ya'll may go to hell, I'm going to Texas." I look forward to learning from those who care to share.

Welcome. Are you a medic?

F.M.
Hey Firemedic, I am. My license is still good, but I'm not using it in a professional sense. I'm heading down to an ANG unit this week and perhaps I'll have some reason to stay current. I do like medicine in general, but something about emergency med really makes my hands steady, my heart slow, and my mind clear. We are coming into "fire season," are we not? You about to get busy?

Thanks for the welcome by all. And thanks for the vetting and check-up by the moderating staff. I look forward to reading the wit and wisdom on SS.

Which Guard Unit are you looking at?

Here we are always busy. The burbs of a big east coast city brings knuckle heads out. EMS calls are more busy though. Always have sick, trauma and dumb asses doing stupid stuff in the name of ETOH...Fire wise, lots of Tac Boxes (house fires) and brush fires. Just had a tac box tonight. Lots of sick old people and LOTS of heroin overdoses.

I love ODs... or as I like to think of them "Self Elimination from Humanity." Sometimes I think we should have the Surgeon General implement certain national protocols that allows for Darwinian Evolution to run its course. Particularly when you have the trifecta: Diabetes, Hypertension, and Morbid Obesity. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I hate O.D.'s. People that self abuse themselves and "we" are forced to "save" them so they can do it again.
