Hello, I'm 21 and currently in my senior year in college. I plan to join the US Navy Reserves this summer after graduation. The majority of my family members who have served have served in the Navy so thats my whole reasoning. But my father also tried Ranger school but ultimately didn't make the cut. As dumb/weird as it sounds, I would really like to try my hand at Ranger school and see how far I can get. My buddy is currently stationed over seas and recommended me checking out this forum to pick up as much info/advice as I can. Thanks for having me!

That was my reasoning too, almost a decade ago when I began my service, with the Navy. While I'm grateful for the experience now, in retrospect I should have conducted more research and not been so lazy. I encourage you to explore your options in the military and find what best suits you. Any questions you have about anything can be answered by members here. Welcome! I agree with everything @dmcgill said. A good start is figuring out what it is you want out of the military. The Mentor Program on this site is great and a lot of questions can be answered just from reading.
