I was a Marine. I signed up under an admin MOS 3043, which I regretted. It was boring and honestly, putting on the uniform to do that kind of work felt degrading. I was stationed in a combat arms battalion. Training was great depending on the mission. I remember towards the end of my service, being on field ops where absolutely no training was conducted, I like to call them free camping trips. Although I was frustrated at times, I loved it. I wish it was more challenging, had more opportunities, and stronger camaraderie. I'm 5'11 175lbs consistently run a perfect Combat Fitness Test, ran a 270-280 PFT, highest swim was a class 2 but never tried or had the opportunity to progress to higher levels, never NJP'd, but been in my fair share of trouble. Although I'm out now I still want to do MarSoc. For no particular reason other than the fact that its something I want to experience. I'm not going to say that there is some deep meaning as to why I'm going to do it. If things pan out, then I just am.

Don't degrade that fact that you worked in a support role. We need admin just as much as we need Infantry.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to SS. Never make lite of your uniformed service to this Nation. There are so many who will never know what it means. There are also some who would have dearly loved to have been in your shoes, but have been denied that chance. Stand tall, and be proud oif your service. Enjoy our site.

Thanks for the welcome gents. To clear the air, in no way was I saying anything negative about the support MOS's within the Marine Corps, the personnel within those units, or any support career in any branch of the U.S. military. I know everyone has an important role to play within the military community from E-1's to their families. The introduction was of my views of my own personal experience. Nonetheless I should have just kept it short and sweet, kind of regret that now hah. Should have applied what I learned from the Corps on that one. Once again, thanks for the warm welcome and support Gents.
