Good afternoon,
My name is SSG Peter Pochatko. I am currently serving in the Arkansas Army National Guard as an Infantry Squad Leader. I have contacted 20th Group about the Special Forces Readiness Evaluation they hold and I am currently training for it.
I enlisted in 2006 as a 13B, cannon crewmember. I went straight to Iraq in 2007 as a .50 cal gunner. After my first enlistment I went Infantry. I've always wanted to persue SF. But until recently I was unfamiliar with the Guard option. Active Duty could not get me in once I made E-5, and the Guard would not release me when I was a lower enlisted. I'm sure I could have pushed it harder though. I am currently 31 years old and rucking and running is something I've been doing for years. But I need to push myself harder now than I ever have before to be ready for this opportunity.
Respectfully,
SSG Pochatko

Thank you gentlemen.

So I have a question to anybody that has been to SFAS. What was the hardest part mentally? I can imagine there are multiple hurdles, but one that stood out the most as something difficult

I mulled over how to answer this for awhile, but it pretty much amounts to: don't quit.
Rgr that. I know there's pretty much no way to be completely prepared for selection. I know it'll be the hardest thing I've ever done and I have several motivators for wanting this. I believe my heart is in the right place. I'm sure I'll be able to dig deep and find some hidden supply of motivation I didn't know I had. I look up to you gentlemen and have the utmost respect for what you do. And I want to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.

That's awesome. It's just up to you to prove you're trainable.

There's so much information out there on open source nowadays to answer any question that can/should be answered. However, even before the technology age being selected or not was all decided by one factor, you.
