Israel and Iran

Did you see the supposed "10 point peace plan" from Iran? How is any of that even a starting point? Are we wanting to just keep living in the same loop that the Israelis are in with Hamas?

And I checked, it's no longer April Fools day.

Trump says he'll give a two week ceasefire if the Strait is opened.

I've yet to see anything saying the Iranians (or Israelis*) have agreed to this, so we'll see how it goes!

*I imagine any ceasefire would need to include them as well.

So the point of the war was what again? Regime change didn’t exactly happen, their nuclear program had already been destroyed, so it wasn’t that, the straight was open before, so did we fight a war and reach a ceasefire to get back to the status quo? What are we even negotiating? I don’t even know what the aim is.

I love the idea of almost everything that we did, but this was so disjointed, and the messaging so terrible that even someone who would support action in Iran, me, is left confused by the point of this.

If it is to maintain our control over oil trade, and the petrodollar just say so. I honestly believe Trump got conned into going to war for Israel, and now that Americans are deeply unhappy with it, he wants a quick end. I’m just grossed out by the situation, because it had such promise.

It's actually a flawless, seven step plan.

1. Bomb country for already destroyed nuclear program
2. Kill their leaders, creating more entrenched hardliners to replace them
3. Burn through our own weapons and ADA stockpiles
4. Remove sanctions on Russian and Iranian oil
5. Allow a toll booth on the Strait, paid in Yuan, to challenge the petrodollar
6. ?????????
7. Profit

------

I doubt Iran gets even half of the things on the list, but still, it's crazy.

6. Bondi is gone and her replacement has announced that the DOJ will not conduct any further investigations into the Epstein files.

I am glad a ceasefire happened yet I still feel this fight isn’t over and come Monday bombs may still drop
There will be no actual ceasefire. Iran has already lobbed more missiles at Israel.

Who controls the IRGC and missile launches? Doubtful anyone really does. With their mosaic defense doctrine, their provincial and sector commands will continue to operate relatively autonomously.

A cease fire that doesn't cure cancer, solve world hunger, fix global warming, fund repreparations, and end global warming with no requirements for the USA to do anything but raise taxes on the wealthiest 1% followed by the immediate confiscation of semiautomatic assault weapons that fire high capacity clip magazines is going to be considered a complete and total failure by the Trump administration...

I'm just not happy yet.

Besides, there is a legion of left wing Marxists and Right Wing anti-Trumpers that aren't going to be happy unless Trump drops a nuke so they can say "we told you so"...
...so lets just drop a small one "somewhere" and get it over with so we can start paying attention to MLB

You’re right, and I think sadly for them they won’t take this ceasefire seriously and instead will do laps of victory followed by support from left-wing media that emboldens their ridiculous demands, to where I think it’s gonna go really bad for them. Until now, I feel maybe Trump has been showing restraint.
