My Random TV Thread

If nobody is familiar with Adi Shankar, you've probably seen some of the films he worked as a producer on (Machine Gun Preacher, Dredd, The Grey, Lone Survivor, A Walk Among The Tombstones) or maybe seen his "bootleg universe" stuff he's produced, like the Punisher short or the Power Rangers one that went viral.

Been watching Sabrina on Netflix

Pretty good so far.

Snowflakes beware though.. The writers are obviously woke.. For a present day, 50s looking community, there is more gender/racial empowerment and lgbtq normalism than I think most people would ever experience in their life outside San Francisco.

RIGHT?! I killed that series in 2 days.

I won't say anything to spoil for those who haven't seen it yet, but starting with episode 8 it really opened the case again. I'm not buying their idea however about how the blood got on the hood latch and inside the car because they (Zellners proposed killers) don't seem smart enough to think of that. But some shit is hopefully going to go down.

'Penny Dreadful' Sequel Series 'City of Angels' Announced

Showtime's Penny Dreadful ran for three seasons and, despite becoming a lesser-seen favorite TV series in horror communities, was unceremoniously cancelled when its ratings failed to meet expectations. A follow-up series, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, has been announced, which will head into production next year.
Variety describes the new series as being "set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension. Rooted in the conflict between characters connected to the deity Santa Muerte and others allied with the Devil, the new series will explore a mix of the supernatural and the reality of the time period."

This should be interesting

I wasn't to hyped about this season of Lethal Weapon after they fired Clayne Crawford, he made the show. But Stiffler's role is pretty good, it's not Lethal Weapon but it's a good show.

SEAL Team has my wife and I hooked.

Impulse, a Netflix exclusive thingy.

If you have read the Jumper series, just don't bother. It'll just piss you off. It's one thing to take an idea and morph it, but to yoink the name, say it's based off of, then basically do a left face and moonwalk off the stage..... yeaaaaaaa

Amazon Prime has the entire series of The Americans. What a great show. It has to have one of the best series finales in TV, Top 10 or so. Great writing, solid cast, character development throughout the entire series...
I'd heard of the show but for whatever reason it never grabbed me to check it out. Had some downtime last night and couldn't find anything else of interest. So, I decided to check it out based on your post. Watched the first 3 episodes last night. Thanks! ...didn't realize there are 6 seasons, though. Hopefully, I can make it through...that's a lot of tv time! :-)

BTW, in a timely coincidence, I happened to watch "The 1980's" or whatever it's called (a CNN documentary about the 80's) on Saturday night. The episode focused on Reagan and Russia. It provided a great refresher as a backdrop going into this series.
Holy crap! I know I'm getting to the party late but I finally finished the entire series of The Americans. I don't really know what to say. I have no idea why I never heard more about this show. Seriously, it's quite possibly the best series I've seen; a masterpiece. Totally worth the time invested. Frankly, I probably owe AWP a bottle Bushmills (or something better) for turning me on to this one.

Agreed, I'm about half way through season 5 right now. Really enjoying it.
