My Random TV Thread

Zero.

The number of seconds I will devote to watching the rebooted Magnum PI.

#Things that should not be

AFN played a commercial for the show and it looks horrible. A reboot is one thing, but the new MPI is a monstrosity that should die an early death.

So...big fan of the Battlestar Galactica series...original and remake...yeah I'm a geek. With the holiday weekend starting....decided to binge the remake series.

And the Razor episode....which was a pretty neat side story.

Hemlock Grove, Netflix only I believe. Has anyone watched it?

Penny Dreadful on Showtime is pretty good too.

The Bridge Season 2 premiers tonight.

Summer TV tends to suck, but I've found a few to hold my interest. Any other series worth looking at?

TURN on AMC. It’s about Washington’s spies. It’s excellent. Also features Rogers Rangers and other period accurate key figures, including the central character; a cabbage farmer turned spy. It’s excellent

I tired getting into the series, but couldn't. I made it 4 or 5 episodes in before I bailed. I wanted to like it because of the material, but couldn't. The same thing happened with the Man in the High Castle. I thought both were boring and flat.

Takes a little bit to get into the Man in the High Castle, but if you hold on it gets really good. Admittedly it can be quite slow in spots, but there is a lot to set up about the universe.

You might want to pick up where you left off. There is a slight lull ( can’t remember where exactly) and then it gets really intense all the way to it’s end. The acting and character depiction of Maj. Robert Rogers, Washington and Gen. Benedict Arnold is very entertaining in addition to great technical detail.

Man in the High Castle is great this season. It sucked me in and before I knew it, I binged the whole season. I think they did a better job of setting it up for future season's. I just wish they did more than 10 episodes, there's so much more they could put into scenes; a couple moments seemed rushed.
