To those of you calling / texting me and asking about the birds swooping across the highway............ negative, it is not for training and they are civilian helos. These daring pilots and crew have important work to do nonetheless checking power lines for National Grid. These are not MH6's, these are Model 500's (civilian) and have been seen recently in Central New York and quite possibly near you. The utilitarian pilots are highly trained and yes some do have a "background" with the operation of the highly maneuverable machines.
