National Protest and 'disband the cops' discussion (and now ICE)

People need a mission, and a purpose. If we don't give it to them, someone else will. Most Americans have so few problems of their own, have so much leisure time and disposable income, so little in life that gives them purpose, and face so few consequences for their actions, that they decide to take on fights that aren't theirs, for people who aren't them.

Up to debate whether this is good or bad.
My line in that sand is, stop trying to force boundaries. It's an indefensible thing to do in any intellectual and professional setting.

@Devildoc

The amount of cunts in the medical field that are posting retarded shit honestly kills me but WTF with these dumb asses.

I have been following that. He makes the 6th RN who has come out publicly with vile trash like that, and most of them have been (rightfully) fired.

If I said on social media, "I am so vehemently pro-life any preggo chick who come in asking for an abortion should be denied access to healthcare because she wants to kill her kid", I would be absolutely and rightfully fired, as I should be.

Medical providers need to keep their cock holsters shut and do their fucking jobs.

There's lots of things I'm passionate about but at no point, none, do I ever advocate being a complete cunt to any pt based on political or personal ideas.

Clowns.

I guess Trump declared victory or something because he says he's not going to send agents into cities unless Mayors and Governors ask...the fuck.

Nah man, totally agree with this play. You get-

  • Federal agents are protected from insurgent networks that are looking to disrupt/interfere/doxx/kill them
  • Saved federal funding
  • Better optics (muh fascism disappears)
  • Forces terrible optics for the people running states/cities ("let it get bad enough")
Minneapolis wants citizens running checkpoints ripping people out of cars demanding ID? Great. Let the citizens post those videos.

And what's the left going to say here? "OH NO NOW THE EVIL DONALD TRUMP ISN'T HELPING KEEP AMERICANS SAFE!"

You've said you wanted this outcome since the start. So here you go.

It's not 5d chess, it's simple tactics. I'd go further- pull federal funding from all thier programs, too. Let the seige begin, direct action isn't working.

I think this is the biggest factor. Trump seems to have been pretty much fine just letting Stephen Miller guide most of the immigration stuff. Miller is willing to be extremely aggressive, but, I wouldn't be suprised if Trump thinks the current discourse around the agressiveness might be to strong going into an election year.

IF it changes, I bet it goes back to this level by winter.

Trump is who he is. He cares about approval, no matter who it is from and no matter what he messages to the contrary. Seeing 37% general approval doesn't mean much- but it does to him. If he gets to play benevolent leader and call off the dogs (Miller, Hohman, ICE, CBP) and he gets a bump, he stays.

This could go a few places.

Major bust of 7 current and 1 retired Toronto Police Service officers were not only charged but connections to Cartels were uncovered.
Seven Toronto police officers and a retired officer have been charged in a sprawling corruption and organized crime probe that police say links insiders to fentanyl and cocaine trafficking, extortion, multiple shootings — and an alleged conspiracy to commit murder.
UPDATED: Toronto Police Corruption Probe Links Officers to Fentanyl, Cocaine Trafficking and Murder Conspiracy

York Regional Police will hold a press conference later this morning to announce charges against multiple Toronto Police Service officers in connection with organized crime networks that have turned the region’s towing industry into a violent battleground, with youthful gunmen discharging firearms in public spaces and nearly 15 percent of all Toronto shootings now linked to the tow truck wars.
York Regional Police to Announce Charges Against Toronto Police Officers in 'Cartel' Organized Crime Probe

Since launching in June 2023, The Bureau has published over 650 stories. The investigation you’re about to read, posted February 8, 2025, remains our most popular—and for good reason. In light of this week’s explosive revelations about systematic corruption within the Toronto Police Service, in a case that alleges Toronto police officers facilitated a sophisticated transnational fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana pipeline with evident connections to Latin Cartels, we believe it's crucial to revisit the warnings we issued 363 days ago about deeper, more troubling vulnerabilities within Canadian law enforcement.
