National Protest and 'disband the cops' discussion (please review page 1)

There will be no protesting, no visits from national civil rights leaders, no mentions from high level politicians. In Rochester there were similar incidents BITD that never got any attention. I should add I posted this here because growing up this was something that happened every couple years or so and when other incidents made national news, we were laughing.

Sad story about a guy killed on Christmas night walking to the store in his neighborhood late at night. A quick look at the story tells you things would be very different in the current setting of race baiting and politics if the race of the perps was the other way around.

I grew up about a mile or so from here. Victim Michael DiCesare was a local in a place a lot of other whites wouldn't venture or live. Bay St. is no joke. Portland Ave is no joke. He was 60 and comfortable walking to the corner store at midnight, so I'm guessing a long time resident of the area who owned a home. RIP

Other way around, it would be a race crime and every race baiting shill would come out of wood work.
 
I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a sec... Confusion around a guy bolting through a store while being pursued and dog piled can cause a lot of miscommunication. The do-gooder could easily have been confused for the perp since he was the only one in that pile that can be seen from the outside w/out a uniform.

Having said that, I too would be a do-gooder that jumps in to subdue a fleeing suspect out of a sense of heroism.

But I would gladly turn around, sue and accept a few hundred grand for butt-stroke and few punches by the local PD. :ROFLMAO:

Cops should be held to a standard and know what is happening. They see other cops on ground, see a dude holding legs, bash him with M4.

Tunnel vision led to lawsuit, IMHO
 
Watching a Mark Felton video got me to thinking:

We're tearing down Confederate statues and Jefferson and whoever else, but no one's talking about NASA and the Nazis? If we're hellbent to purge all of the bad, oppressive "stuff" in American history, why do NASA and the state of Alabama honor Nazis who most assuredly know they benefited from concentration camps and were members of the SS?

For as much hunting of SS Soldiers that we did who emigrated here, the other thing that happened was the amount of hardcore science people who ended up in the government apparatus who we know about. But we're not worried about what they represent?
 
We did what we had to do, I'm not taking the piss out of Paperclip for anyone wondering. What I am saying is NASA and the State of Alabama are openly praising, honoring, and promoting these guys. There was another who had an award named after him which is since renamed. His claim to fame?

He did aerospace medical experiments on concentration camp inmates. Subjected to cold, heat, high atmospheric pressures, rapid decompression, lack of O2, putting them through g forces until they die...basic stuff, right? Again, NASA had an award named after this guy and he was even in charge of an aerospace medical program. Yet they kept von Braun and Debus?

I understand the necessity of bringing them here after the war. If these feel good twats are worried about the names of Army bases, why aren't they worried about ACTUAL WAR CRIMINALS being honored by the USG?

A lot of these guys served in the west, "honorably" after the war. Then we went after them. I would argue that we didn't have to do anything but try them all for crimes. But conveniently we only did that with part of them. I would say the numbers go well beyond Operation Paperclip. So we can either own it and say this is what we had to do, or we can do this tear down statues and shit continuously until we have no history.

Definitely not. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the people and government of our country. "Oh, these are the good Nazi's because they can help us get to the moon before the Soviets."

ETA: I've consistently been on team "don't tear down everything that doesn't align with my extremely narrow world view if it is somehow still up".

ETA2: My point which I thought was clear was try them for the crimes they committed.
