Just a thought - but the idea that we could just "store" the heavy equipment in Europe, and then expect troops to just "fall in" on combat ready equipment seems a lot like leaving your chain saw out in the woods during the summer months - so it will be "ready" when you come back in the fall to cut firewood.
...well, it just seems like that type of plan leaves out a LOT of mission critical logistical planning.
The level of dedication needed to maintain "readiness" - and when I say "readiness" - I'm not talking about that BULLSHIT that the staff feeds the CG during a CRU, QRB, or SATB - fuck that lying misleading dishonest type of readiness - THAT is how we end up with the "Task Force Smith" leadership brief that a lot us old fucks had to listen to in PLDC and BNCOC

Take your car and park it in your back yard - just pretend it's an M1 sitting in a motorpool.
...don't move it
...don't start it
...don't wash it
...don't even TOUCH it
Just ask your neighbor to keep an eye on it.
...the one that waves at you and pretends to be your friend while actually shit talking you to the rest of the neighborhood
Then come back in a year - and try to drive that mother fucker to grandmas house for Christmas - but you cant even put the key in the ignition until it is time to leave fore grandmas house.

I'm more inclined to just say "eat shit NATO - you can't be trusted to protect yourself - and I have a LOT of time effort moeny and American blood invested in your stupid continent and I'm just going to do what I want - now, fuck off and go ruin the rest of your country while I continue to prepare to kill a bunch of mother fuckers when they start fucking around with my chili recipe"
