I live outside of Orlando and we can see the launches from there. Even after all of these years there's a still a "wow" factor to me.

I saw two shuttle launches, a daytime launch in 1985, and a nighttime launch in December, 1991. Utterly awesome and exhilarating. I would have loved to have seen an Apollo launch; and any of the large rockets.

I suggest that everyone should witness a launch.

The same was true at Vandenberg AFB. They did not publish all their launches, but living on base you heard and felt every one of them.

Where we live in Nevada if it's a night launch we can usually see the rocket once it gets higher. It'll freak some people out but we just blame the Navy for everything around here anyway.
