SSGT Taylor was killed in Afghanistan in 2009 while serving as an EOD tech. He was the kind of guy who everyone wanted to be around due to his positive outlook on life. He could make you laugh when you were hot, soaking wet, back hurt, feet blistered, mind and body tired, and sick of drinking shit infested water. After he was killed in action, an air strip was named in his honor in Afghanistan.
In his honor, a college scholarship has been set up by an organization called The Guardians (started by another Marine who served with us in Rota). The Guardians is a 501(c)3 charity and this scholarship is open to both those looking to donate, as well as those seeking to apply for a scholarship. The more money raised, the more this can help others achieve their goal of a college education.
