Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Ran into Nancy Kerrigan once. I kinda understood why someone would want to whack her in the knee.

I ran into Kristi Yamaguchi locally; her husband used to play hockey for the Hurricanes. I saw her in a store at a mall. She was a first-class cunt towards the employees.

But Harding and Kerrigan...I could see a threesome. A good girl/bad girl thing.

But I, Tonya does look like a decent flick.

I will see 12 Strong. I anticipate artistic license, but I hope it stay relatively true to Horse Soldiers.

Girlfriend saw I, Tonya, with her mother. Stated that it was sad. I remember watching the 30 for 30 on it, apparently this had a lot more details about the mental and physical abuse she suffered from her mother and husband.

Liam Neeson needs to stop doing movies. His only role is the "Old Badass" type of guy and the only one who can consistently pull it off (also wearing thin though) is Denzel. GTFO of here with that shit Liam.. go drink some Metamucil and sleep for 12 hours a day.

He's a little washed up to be honest.

Saw “I, Tonja” last night. If the phrase, “why me? Why anyone?” rings a bell, this is a must see. It is really really good.

Margot Robbie's 'I, Tonya' is a champion bioflick

Here is a review which made me decide to watch it (once Netflix streams it).

"How much air time do we need to give to co-conspirators? That’s a rhetorical question. The answer is exactly as much drives up the ratings-share to increase the price of their ad time. I’m not preaching anything new here. The path goes straight from that to Reality Television. And from there to social media.
Do you remember the scene in I, Tonya where Jeff Gillooly walks up to the window to see the press clearing out of his front lawn? Do you remember what was on the television screen? O.J. Simpson’s freeway chase spectacular. Remember all that coverage? One of the defense attorneys who got a bit of coverage through that months-long spectacle was Robert Kardashian. The through line from the news as reality entertainment, to reality tv, to social media is right there. Good on Kim K. for finding a way to monetize that for herself."

Could be interesting.

At least stop doing movies that involve firearms, given his views on private ownership.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (Vince Vaughn) was interesting. If you liked Shot Caller check it out on Amazon (some of the bashed in prosthetics heads could have used some work though lol).

I thought it was a misfire - though did do some interesting things. I highly recommend the director's other feature (at least the one I saw) 'Bone Tomahawk.' A lot of great thing about that movie but my favorite is the absolutely incredible performance of the 'town drunk' character. He took a normal western throwaway role and made it the core of the movie.

That's disappointing to read. By default I just assume that most actors/entertainers differ from me on social issues, but I did some Googling and agree that it is pretty fucked up for a man who has made his living off of violent movies, then mocks the very same men (mostly) who give their money to watch his movies.
