Super Sweet Movie Discussion Thread

Love it. Only criticism, really just a nitpick. Not a huge fan of their armor version. I read Kingdom Come as a child and her iconic eagle armor is just etched on my memory. In the trailer Gadot looks like someone stuffed in a rigid outfit that seems a size or two too small for her and I can imagine how uncomfortable it must be to wear smth covering your entire body like that. I prefer the ancient greek armor inspired one from the comics. Other than that, the trailer looks cool. Gonna be another success.

I'm a total Bond fan boi and can't wait.

I lost interest after Sean Connery. It was the over-the-top silliness of the Roger Moore era that killed it for me. Daniel Craig in Casino Royale brought me back to fanboidom. He bleeds, he gets drunk...the physical violence is so much better...and they've shitcanned most of the campy stupidity.

I'm just criticizing one particular design choice, not the actress, trailer, or movie. I'm absolutly looking forward to it. Gal Gadot is still my fav cast for the current DCEU and I hope Patty Jenkins will be allowed to make more DC related movies.

I don't know anything about all this comic book stuff but that helped seal the deal for me. I'm in.

I went back and watched the trailer only to see her stuffed into this outfit that seems too small for her.

Finally saw John Wick 3, got it on sale for 10 bucks. I get that the producers are building the world of John Wick, but it's gotten to the point where it's super gratuitous. Keanu Reeves and the stunt team/choreographers did incredible work, the story people need to tighten the story telling up.

He kills 178 motherfuckers in 90 minutes in 98 different ways. Tighten up the story telling and he kills 294 motherfuckers in 86 minutes in 136 different ways. What's so gratuitous about that?

I dunno, the story just seemed convoluted. Like a bunch of neat elements and ideas were crammed in for the sake of inclusivity. Don't get me wrong the action and choreography were brilliant, but world and writing are akin to a hipster dressing like a lumberjack. Also they really need to focus on tying up loose ends in the story.

Gripes
- Ninja's working at an open air sushi bar located under a dingy looking subway stop... the whole scene just screamed Hepatitis C.
- Halle Berry's character and Johns trip to the Middle East didn't seem to fit.
- Organization of worldwide assassins and suicide girl secretaries run by a dude wearing a man dress, who lives in a tent in the desert.
- High Table / High Council still not explained
- He/she/it enforcer???
- Armor upgrades
- The Continental can afford all sorts of crazy glass rooms, art deco junk, and fancy knickknacks, but can't afford to arm their security dude's with body armor or rifles.
- Super-duper high-capacity hairclips :ROFLMAO:
- The betrayal
- The not ending

At the end, I just couldn't suspend my disbelief. I liked the action, but the storytelling just wasn't as good.

I believe the original Assassins were Arab so perhaps he is the direct descendant of them and therefore the leader of them.

The High Table are the criminal Kingpins such as the Mafia,Yakuza,Triads etc

Continental probably doesn’t need to normally arm themselves like that because hardly anyone ever breaks the rules and does who do aren’t armed like those guys were.

I get what you're saying, but I'm still not buying it. Don't think the assassin archetype were Arab's and even if they weren't why would anyone follow them? Criminal kingpins from opposing cultures being buddy buddy and ruling the world in secret is also a bridge to far. The Continental had a week, more if you count the time Wick appears, to outfit 10-12 guys.
