DoD (Especially at HQ) is full of so many liberal technocrats that would be fine in say the Department of Education, but need to get gone from the 5 sided building ASAP. Their focus is on ideology rather than preparing this country for war.

The last administration had no accountability, people are dead, but no one was fired or charged. So, since Jill set a new standard...may as well follow it.

I'm confused by your metaphorical use of potatoes...

In some context an intellectual potato could refer to someone that is generally uninteresting, dull, unintelligent, or even unattractive - this is the environment where I excel - but it could also refer to the concept of a "smart potato" used in marketing and technology given the current trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning - things that I know nothing about.

Then of course since this IS a thread about the Trump Administration and thus the wide spread issue of mental health comes into play - it could even be referring to "sentient potatoes" - a playful way to describe oneself as a means of avoiding labels.

Maybe a sentient potato is just struggling to embrace a more fluid sense of identity...

Thanks to Elon for his remarkable and unprecedented service to this nation. He's the shining example of someone that came here, gained success, and gave back.

Who would have thought an entire media apparatus aligning against you and nationwide domestic terrorism would affect the bottom line, amirite?

ETA- Elon is a special service government employee that has a 130 day limit on his service. This limit has always existed, this isn't news or Elon quitting, it's been the timeline since DOGE was set to work.

The video is damning enough- but here is my takeaway. How many of the arguments on these pages sound like this guy? Is this "resistance in support of the constitution," or is this anti-American sedition, undermining the administration from a position of power openly?

If it's the latter, and your argument against the SECDEF (appointed by the sole head of the Executive, the one person in America that every citizen votes for, and enacts the will of the populace) sounds like his- maybe you should really explore your argument and look internally. When your talking points align exactly with what @Marauder06 would label a great example of NOT the "deep state", maybe think about your internal biases.

I just get really confused whenever the topic of "election interference" comes up because then I think about those 9 straight years that people spent claiming that Trump stole the election from Hillary...
...and when I think of Hillary, the next thing that pops into in my head is that mother fucking "revealing string bikini image"
...then I can't sleep for two or three days
 
I wanna be clear here, I don't agree with the "ignore the orders" opinion of the OP. However, when the MSM engages in breathless outrage to fire Hegseth and then the judiciary organizes a resistance for the output of using taxpayer dollars to provide gender transition surgery in the DoD- it sort of makes me think that we aren't a serious country right now and the folks pushing for this nonsense aren't on Team America.

Calling the National Guard a "side hustle" discredits everything he says and he can go fuck himself. The 400 thousand+ Guardsmen should be pissed. Not like they stayed home and didn't die over the last 20-ish years...

I strongly disagree with SOME of the SECDEF's policies but I execute them faithfully. Why? Because his appointment is lawful. A Branch Chief is very low on the totem pole and usually a GS-14. This clown speaking out is like a cashier at Target/ Walmart/ Best Buy complaining about the CEO.

For the record I work around GS-12/ 13 equivalents. Some have very strong opinions about the current leadership and you know what they do? Show up to work and do their jobs.
