The Trump Presidency 2.0

Ukraine's gonna' need cheat codes to keep the Donbas and Crimea isn't happening. Z-money doesn't want a truce because he and his boyz can't skim off of foreign aid, which is drying up ever since we stopped underwriting this deal.

He needs to take the L and retire to some European country. France has believed in him so much, surely they will offer him retirement which is totally not asylum?

No way they keep Donbas, Crimea has never been on the table. Z-Dog needs to deal in realities and read the room.

Eh, Putin needs to be thrown out a window.

The Russians have violated every agreement with Ukraine. They will violate this next one unless the violated automatically triggers destruction of Moscow and St Petersburg. And then even Putin might still violate it.

which agreements did we violate with the further NATO expansion towards their borders?

I am just glad that this affects only Dearborn, Michigan, and is unrelated to a wider problem nationwide.
I was thinking something similar when I was reading up on the gerrymandering blue states (and red states) are doing right now.

None of it is taking place in the states where I live, so I shouldn't care about it, right?

Wrong. Those districts are set up to produce deliberate voting outcomes, which affect Congressional seats, which affects every. aspect. of. my. life.

When people ask "why do you care?" it's because it ALL affects ALL of us, eventually.

It doesn't affect me in the xxxx block of yyyyy Drive in zzzzz, FL so why should I care about Dearborn, MI?

(The above is sarcasm. Anyone who didn't see it for what it is should haze themselves. That I need a disclaimer here of all places is a sad commentary on America in general.)

My understanding of what Texas is doing is what will mirror Florida, Florida law requires compactness of districts. So you can't gerrymander them to keep someone in office by giving them more voters.

If you got rid of VRA districts (which is just Federal Gerrymandering) you end up with more Republican seats in a bunch of places. Pritzker tried to chat shit about whatever and the liberal host was like wait, Illinois has the most gerrymandered districts in the country.

It's why I feel strongly about immigration (census and congressional seats), the border (safety of Americans and impacts to immigration), and a host of other issues.

It's not that they affect me directly in my locality, it's that those issues affect all of America and our culture, and I am an American, not a Las Vegasin. Er, Las Vegan? IDK.

The parallels are there though. We just saw what happens when a sanctuary state pencil whips a CDL for an illegal and people in Florida were murdered because of it.

I want to punch the left in the throat when they start navel-gazing and clutching pearls regarding gerrymandering. They are acting quite the victim when they feed the beast themselves.

Pretty much every party everywhere has done this, but it was pretty egregious in 1980's and 90's Florida. My lifelong Democrat dad even sneered at what his party was doing, though some of that was along racial lines, but whatever.

Anyway, let's check in on Florida's current Congressional districts, I'm sure they are...

Florida's 1990s redistricting and Bush v Gore became full 3-hour full-semester poli sci classes.

This issue specifically has tapped me out for whattaboutism. It's the whole conversation.

There are way more red states that could redistrict and gain seats than blue states (becausee by and large the blue states got to the gerrymandering first because they want to win, they don't care about the principle).

Every. Red. State. Should. Re. District. Now. Every single one of them.

There are no rules, there are no precedents, there is no moral high ground. The only people using that argument are projecting by accusation.

I am sick of the GOP's adherence to "principles". I want them to win, move fast, break things, and let the outrage be the outrage.

Illinois looks really shady because this reminds me of it by the shape, and the dems had done it there.
