The Trump Presidency 2.0

How about this - my last full paycheck was over a month ago - and the government is still making me come to work every single fucking day...

The "things that matter to me" ARE NOT GETTING DONE because my counterparts at the higher HQ are furloughed - my counterparts at adjacent staff sections are furloughed - most of my counterparts at the lower headquarters...
...are fucking furloughed

Here I am though - coming in and rehashing discussions that "we" have literally been having for the last ten fucking years - because what el;se are we going to do.
...have I mentioned yet, that I haven't gotten a paycheck for participating in this fucking kabuki theater?

Our government is fucking corrupt - and we are not only worshipping them - we have been forced into a degree of reliance that should have explained to people a long long time ago - that we ALL need to "VOTE HARDER"
...because voting works - amiright?
...anyone?
Amiright?

Some of these assholes have been around longer than the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays - and yet we keep selecting them to ass fuck us for a buck.

rant mode deactivated - that is all

This sounds like my office.

Yet, people are saying that the gov functioning during the shutdown means we still have too many people. The problem is it isn't working and the PEOPLE working are doing it for free or like me operating on a working capital fund which runs out in a week or two.

People outside of the gov do not understand what is going on at the worker/ functional level and its quite worse than folks think.

Let’s play… Things that keep Ooh-Rah up at night.

I’ve got quite a bit of flying coming up in the next few months. I hate flying.

Currently all I picture is one lone air traffic controller, living check to check, Mortgage about to go 30 days late, credit cards about to go late, wife does not know how much financial trouble they are in.

He stares at that radar screen and contemplates , “just one plane, one plane hits the ground and they’ll settle this shit Ricky tick…”

I don't think a controller would do that, but I easily see one missing something or deciding there's no way a pilot would do "x" and that thing happens with the plane subsequently crashing. In this day and age you aren't safe until you're off the plane because ground control and safety appears to be much worse than in the past. Near misses and refused takeoffs are almost a monthly occurrence now.

And airlines going into their busiest season are forced to cut flights? Tell me Delta, United, etc. aren't in a bidding war to bribe controllers for preferential treatment. I don't believe in enough human kindness to prevent that from happening. Any how do they decide what 10% to cut? Are airlines going to be given a number, a quota? And not one penny will go to the FAA official drafting that list?

I can't wait for the next election when people vote for the folks who did this to us, all because it is their guy or gal selected by the party to continue the status quo. How's the status quo working for y'all?

People don't understand that the reason shutdowns are usually less than 30 days is because the fed is a semi slamming on the breaks; it takes some time to reach a stop.

Similarly, the longer this lasts the harder it is to get back up to speed. We've functionally lost the 1st qtr and a bit of the 2nd qtr due to this.

The truck can only coast until the next paycheck/mid month until we come to a dead stop.

Expect not to go anywhere if that happens, as they Want to cut air traffic.

I did listen to something this morning discussing increasing the authorized distances for aircraft on landing/takeoff to try and lessen the load on controllers.
