The Trump Presidency 2.0

Speaking to the larger culture and the current MAGA slap fight...

I told y'all this is exactly what was going to happen. The moderates are dead, and young American males are marching steadfast to the right.

Nate is an early adopter. The rank and file come next.

"They have no idea what they've wrought".

Amazing what the executive enforcing the law does for this country.

If Fuentes lost his ability to speak tomorrow I wouldn't care, dude needs to find Jesus via water boarding. Dude was telling people to vote against Trump. He's essentially a Democrat.

In this economy where the left is about mutilating children? We're in a war of survival.

Using words like "war" within the topic of politics, makes you no better than radical leftists. Words have meaning, which is why the political violence from the left is happening. Inciting violence on the right will only ensure an actual civil war. The only solution is actual dialogue and getting people on both sides out of their bubbles.

Youngkin in Virginia was an outlier, not the new norm. I also think that thousands of fired/displaced former federal workers who were DOGEd and affected by the government shutdown contributed. So, not surprised how the governorship went.

I AM surprised that the dog-kicking (as seen on video) murder-wishing (as seen in texts) AG candidate won.

Mamdani is just the latest far-left/socialist mayor, and that's a trend that ain't changing.

I don't think there is a whole lot of need to search the soul of the GOP to see what went wrong. If Trump, et al., don't make a plan and figure some shit out November 2026 will be a Blue Wave.

Ideological Conflict? One that has been destroying our country and social contract? There's only one side of the political spectrum when something happens has to disassociate and it's the conservative side. Democrats can call for the outside murder of their neighbors and get elected.

Agree. I like the direction our military is heading under Trump, among other things. But Trump keeps talking about "prices are down on food and gas, etc." Nope, gas prices went down here just long enough for him to make that claim. Now gas prices are right back in Biden territory here. Prices at the grocery store are still off the hook. Eggs are not the only thing Americans buy, lol. I think people are worried more about their jobs and the economy and less on social issues now, but either way they want something to change...and as usual, they are given only two options.

Republicans followed the same playbook they've been using for ages. They got power and have sat on their asses. They were elected to instill change. Dems don't do this.

What has Congress done in the past 10 months? They could codify many of the EOs. Have they? Nope.

Anyone remember DOGE? Evidently Republicans don't.

Illegal immigration. Quit dragging this out. Rip the band-aid off and get it done. Some people will scream and yell, but once it's done and the news cycle passes, we can move on.

Similarly, Voter ID, just get it done.

Banning men from women's sports. It's an 80/20 issue. Get it done.

These are low hanging fruit, but the types of things they were elected to address.

While foreign policy is important and I'm glad we have people that understand this, right now domestic issues and the economy are more important. America First, remember that? Evidently Republicans don't.

The President needs to step up and visibly lead Republicans on the domestic front. This silly socialist wave that's taking place cannot be allowed to take root. Republicans need to get their shit squared away.

Correct. It took a lot to mobilize voters for Youngkin, and Trump voters turned out for both him, Earle-Sears, and Miyares. All three victories were pretty narrow. Earles-Sears disassociated from Trump during 2024 and that probably affected her quite a bit. But then again, even though Harris carried VA, 400k more people voted for Trump than voted for Spangberger. I get the idea of not being sold on the candidate, but there's enough going on that state parties need to cut the bullshit and organize.

How about this - my last full paycheck was over a month ago - and the government is still making me come to work every single fucking day...

The "things that matter to me" ARE NOT GETTING DONE because my counterparts at the higher HQ are furloughed - my counterparts at adjacent staff sections are furloughed - most of my counterparts at the lower headquarters...
...are fucking furloughed

Here I am though - coming in and rehashing discussions that "we" have literally been having for the last ten fucking years - because what else are we going to do.
...have I mentioned yet, that I haven't gotten a paycheck for participating in this fucking kabuki theater?

Our government is fucking corrupt - and we are not only worshipping them - we have been forced into a degree of reliance that should have explained to people a long long time ago - that we ALL need to "VOTE HARDER"
...because voting works - amiright?
...anyone?
Amiright?

Some of these assholes have been around longer than the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays - and yet we keep selecting them to ass fuck us for a buck.

rant mode deactivated - that is all

This sounds like my office.

Yet, people are saying that the gov functioning during the shutdown means we still have too many people. The problem is it isn't working and the PEOPLE working are doing it for free or like me operating on a working capital fund which runs out in a week or two.

People outside of the gov do not understand what is going on at the worker/ functional level and its quite worse than folks think.

Let’s play… Things that keep Ooh-Rah up at night.

I’ve got quite a bit of flying coming up in the next few months. I hate flying.

Currently all I picture is one lone air traffic controller, living check to check, Mortgage about to go 30 days late, credit cards about to go late, wife does not know how much financial trouble they are in.

He stares at that radar screen and contemplates , “just one plane, one plane hits the ground and they’ll settle this shit Ricky tick…”
