Look at the years on the bottom line. The drop continues to move to the right of 2024, which I take to mean early 2025. But I was wrong once.

Yea, not disagreeing that it's still dropping; that's a good thing, and something Trump can take credit for.

Yeah it's an imprecise graph and instead of 1 year increments they used 2 years for whatever reason. I never thought I would be this annoyed by data display until I started my new gig, but here we are.
Border crossings were at their height in 2023 (like 249k in December), started to bump downward in Jan 2024, accelerated comparatively in mid '24, and then dropped off the map in Jan of '25 (after a spike of people trying to get in under the last admin). Fentanyl deaths correlate pretty directly to the border crossing numbers.

I think it sucks that he doesn't have people that can control and QA his social media posts for him, but yeah.. He posted a 1:02 minute video regarding the Dominion Voting machines and looks like someone inserted this 2 seconds into the last portion of the clip and Trump fell for it. I would question where you got this clip you shared because it's pretty obvious what happened, but this is making it seem like he posted only a 2 second clip of the obamas super-imposed on monkies. It's perfect for the echo chamber

Never did I ever…believe that so many of the same Republicans and conservatives whom I once respected, would move into an echo-chamber and become the same triggered and blinded dudes we used to make fun of on the left.
This President literally surrounds himself with sycophants. He makes up stats as he goes, he lies to us, he slanders and disposes of anyone in his circle who may disagree with him, yet he gets a pass because “well they do it too“.

I'll scroll back and find if you or the other left-leaning folks had this energy for the trans guy that showed his tits on the White House lawn while the White House was draped in trans flags on Easter, and then the president took a selfie with that guy. What are the chances I find it?
Call it out. Call it for what it is. But let's stop short of othering people and using the worst bad-faith assumption to demonize like 80% of the board from the only leadership position.

Actually… I voted for Trump, I voted for Trump the last time too. You can call me left leaning if you choose, but as far as I’m concerned, I didn’t change, what I used to know as the Republican Party has changed.
I tried that the last time, and got shouted down.
I don’t even know what to say here, but if what I said made you or anyone else feel demonized then I sincerely apologize, and I will attempt to choose my words more carefully going forward.

I asked this question the last time you posed this, and I ask because I vote on issues, not personality. What exactly has Trump done to the party? Trump is Trump, but I'm not seeing a big shift on the issues. I understand you'd rather have the stuffed- shirt politician we were all used to because you think Trump isn't "presidential" , but the party hasn't changed much on what matters, the issues.

I vote on the issues too, which is why I continue to vote Republican. For me personally, it’s how the message is being communicated and what I see as an abuse of power and the trampling of constitutional rights when it seems convenient to the “greater good”. We used to be about free trade, strong alliances, and an independent press.
This current administration seems dead set on up-ending those traditions, the most recent example being Bezo’s gutting of the Washington post.

I think the Overton window has not necessarily shifted, but has widened. Or the model is outdated and a political scientist needs to come up with a new model.
Most of the GOP's platforms have remained consistent: border control (that used to be a democrat plank too), strong military, tax reduction, more law and order. I think what has largely changed has been the degree to which instruments have been used to enable these policies. Couple those instruments with the cult of personality and the narcissism/sociopathy Trump has and we have what we have.
I think the democrats have changed WAYYYYY more than the republicans, as have their presumptive national leaders.
