I'm chairing the inaugural Tommy V Challenge Ski Race & Ski/Board-a-Thon on March 10, 2013.

Event details are here:
www.tommyv.org

This event is in honor of my friend, SOCS Tom Valentine, and in support of the families of the families of Navy SEALs and service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country. Funds raised will benefit the surviving spouses and children of fallen service members.

Tom was lost in 2008 during HAHO training in preparation for his 9th deployment. Tom was an elite warrior who lived his life in accordance with the special operator's code. He was fiercely loyal to his country and his team. He served with honor and integrity on and off the battlefield. He stood ready to lead, ready to follow, and he never quit. He always took responsibility for his actions and those of his teammates. He excelled as a warrior through discipline and innovation. He trained for war and fought to win at all costs against our nation's enemies.

Tom's wife established the All In, All The Time Fund with the objective of meeting of meeting the interim financial needs of surviving spouses and children. Examples of assistance includes, but is not limited to, things such as legal fees (wills, estate management fees, etc.); household & automotive repairs, counseling assistance (outside the military chain), etc. Their needs are many, their needs are great.

To date, the All In, All The Time Foundation has raised over $100,000 which has been donated to the following: The Navy SEAL Foundation, the families of PO1 Neil Roberts (KIA 2002), SOC Adam Brown (KIA 2010), and the families of Extortion 17 (31 KIA 2011).

Tom was an avid skier, competing on his high school ski team. This event is the perfect way to honor him. While I understand most here cannot attend such an event, you may still contribute via donations/sponsorships.

Donations can be made through our Eventbrite registration site. Please see the website for more info and don't hesitate to contact me here with questions.

Just want to provide an update/wrap-up on this event that took place back in March...

The event was a success and did it's job as inaugural event. I'm very proud to say that shortly after the event, the Foundation announced it had succeeded in it's goal to pay off the home for the family of ABH1 Neil C. Roberts (KIA 2002)!

This was a particularly gratifying accomplishment for the Foundation, especially due to the closeness of the Roberts and Valentine families. While All In, All The Time may not be one of the "big guys", it's important to know how it is stepping up and making a very direct and personal impact to the community it serves.

Pics or it never happened! ;-)

Please let us know when they have another big event. I'm always looking for different ways to support the community.
