When I was being screened for a top secret the issue was brought up, but I ended up not needing it so I still kept my dual with just a secret clearance.

Yes you get to this level of sillyness. The Dutch ain't no threat.
The bottom line is, you need to be prepared to renounce your citizenship and commit 100% to the USA.
I take my sworn oath to the USA very seriously indeed, at the expense of my country of birth. That was no casual decision for me.
It doesn't stop me visiting my country of birth, and it doesn't stop me regaining my previous citizenship when my clearance eventually expires, if I so desire, but my loyalty is with the USA, and yours should be too if you intend to enlist here. No ifs and buts about it!
