Your 2024 Presidential Election Thread

And seemingly neither was POTUS.

Yeah. Probably because it expires in 25 either way, and it isn’t that bad. I think that it is funny people act like Biden and Kamala have been out here raising taxes when they actually didn’t. Trump did, and is able to effectively lie to voters who believe it.

Kamala is campaigning on various things that will affect the middle class. My wife and I just did the math now that my benevolent employer has given me a raise that is a step in the right direction but still not close to what I provide in value.

Apparently we are no longer middle class and haven't been for sometime. But if we are not middle class, we're rich?

Looking at the definitions of what makes someone middle class...household income max of like 150k? No one, and I mean no one would afford a house in the neighborhood we bought. And we bought in what you would consider I guess an "upper middle class" neighborhood from 20 years ago. But I can tell you, a "middle class" neighborhood today would definitely be way out in the boonies or in the hood. I guess I should count my blessings and shit. I guess only rich people can find and buy a house on the fly inside 30 days of receiving notice their lease was not being renewed. (Wouldn't have been able to do this without a VA loan or liquidating a huge portion of my investments)

But Kamala is also lying through her teeth about taxes and her proposals. They will definitely go up on me and mine.

But I guess today I found out we were rich, wild stuff. I think the income level for the middle class as a definition hasn't really moved with inflation.

ETA: The income you need to fall in America's lower, middle and upper classes — find out where you rank and how these social levels are defined

But I suppose by net worth we're saved and we're still middle class:ninja:

I am in the top 3%. I will pay more either way. Our income more than doubled in the last year, and now we pay 6 figures in total taxes.

Congratulations bro, I know you and your wife have worked hard to get where you are.

Yeah. It has been a long road. 11 years almost from the day I decided to go back to school.

I don’t think I should have to give the government as much as I do. Like I said previously, these “tax the rich” people really just tax people like my wife and I. Don’t get it twisted, we are fine, but when you consider the expenses we have to incur to work the jobs we do, mainly childcare, while being treated like we are Elon Musk, the money isn’t as much as it seems like.

You cannot serve two masters (money and family life). We chose to give up a six-figure salary for my wife to stay at home to raise the kids. Less take-home income, but also taxed MUCH less. The "high middle class" gets the squeeze. I am NOT saying what you are doing is 'wrong,' just saying it comes at a very real price.

Childcare and Elder Care are two things that have far outstripped inflation. In some cases, like where my Grandmother used to live I have no idea how the costs have gotten where they have as the development was paid off in the mid-90s, they do have some loans from renovation and redevelopment (which expanded capacity by some margin), but nothing that would lead to tripling costs from 2010. Like this place was a "premium" property in the 80s, but you bought in at like 10k and then could more than pay your accrued rent from social security if you were on the independent living side.

Childcare, most businesses don't own their real estate and the real estate, even at larger corporations like KinderCare are dealing with landlords just jacking up rents because they can. I'm honestly surprised the megacorps like an Apple or a Google don't just offer en masse free child care...like they basically have leisure campuses as it is. Same with Wall Street.

Yeah. My wife will very likely eventually be the CTO of a Fortune 500 company, so she isn’t gonna quit. I could realistically make 6 figures in 3 months. But due to …reasons…., it is necessary for me to work a W2 job simply for life insurance reasons. I do have 16 weeks off a year as it is though.

The only company I know of that offers legit free childcare is SAS. At least regionally. My job has onsite care, but it is expensive, and doesn’t work within my hours. If my wife went to work at SAS it would be worth a major pay cut.

I knew a PA who worked at SAS in Cary, he loooooved it. The benefits and work culture were awesome.

So there has been an update about Kamala's Pittsburgh rally. But you have to sign up because the location is private. 🧐

Katy Perry. Batshit crazy, would not kick out of bed though because even though I'm not a leftist I'm also definitely not gay or retarded.

In order for me to pay in, I'd need some private viewing of her doing even a burlesque to keep me out of wife jail.

This article gives some insight into the Amish vs. PA battles. https://lancasteronline.com/news/lo...cle_24fa69da-d662-11ee-b154-13edacf5fc7c.html

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture lied to and misled courts in its effort to shut down Upper Leacock Township farmer Amos Miller and his businesses, according to his attorneys.

Miller, an Amish farmer whose organic farm lies about six miles east of downtown Lancaster, has been the subject of long-running legal fights with federal regulators over food safety matters. He’s also become a cause celebre for those who accuse the government of overreach and tyranny.

Attorneys for Miller and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office will be in Lancaster County Court Thursday over the state Department of Agriculture’s effort to stop him from producing and selling raw milk and other products while its lawsuit against him plays out.

This can't be true because Trump is a Nazi racist fascist...

This is one of the things that blows my mind about GOP strategy.

Central/South American/carribbean immigrants tend to be overwhelmingly Christian and more likely to be socially conservative. Somali immigrants are Sunni, but similar social ideas.

There's huge voting blocs that could be courted with minimal effort.

The rally that Kamala was to hold tomorrow on the City of Pittsburgh's Point Park has had a "change of venue". The stage and other accommodations in the city park were removed last night. The new venue has not been announced. Meanwhile, former President Trump has booked out the PPG Paints Arena for tomorrow. Interesting developments.

Well - the democrats ARE pretty solid with the Hollywood weirdos - this could be an "Invite Only Freak Fest" put on by P-Diddy's organizers...
...I mean, I did see that picture of Joe Biden trying to eat a baby the other day

Did Diddy do it?
Diddy did it!
