Your 2024 Presidential Election Thread

This is whom we are dealing with, and while a threat of concern to be ready for, I find them to be the noise in the signal to noise ratio. Older article but the point remains.

Antagonistic narcissism and psychopathic tendencies predict left-wing antihierarchical aggression, study finds

Did you bother reading your own article? Cause it's just finding that left wing authoritarians are as shitty as right wing ones.

The findings are in line with previous research examining the opposite side of the political divide, which has linked RWA to heightened Psychopathic tendencies.

I’ve been wondering if the NPVIC would come up. I don’t think it would amount to anything more than an interesting thought experiment but I also wasn’t able to find further detail on what has actually been done. To be more specific, I could find states that had “agreed” to it but no info as to the nature of their agreement (ie does this legally compel the state or its electors in any way).

Yes to the bolded. The idea behind the NPVIC is that there is no mandate for how states award electors, so nothing says states cannot do it based off of the national vote.

The legislation in all states is locked until the total number of electoral votes between the states=270.

There would be numerous court cases if enacted, but there's debate on if the challenges are valid or not.

If it was active this election, the example @Box gave would have happened.
All states would legally be required to send the GOP slate of electors.

Yes, actually I did.

Something, something, reading comprehension. I'm talking about right now, not last Inauguration Day.

NPVIC Electoral Votes:
Trump 516 - Harris 22

That's like the SS fitness thread, Kaldak vs. everyone else 😆

This random politician from Nova Scotia should go jump in the Atlantic.

New rule, if you're gonna use a graphic, you have to make it in photoshop yourself. No borrowing, no interns, nothing.
I know I'm American and we suck at geography, but what part of the US is Novia Scotia in, again?

People need to feel like a victim so badly that they get upset about the outcome of elections in other people's countries.

She's appealing to emotions, lefty's love a good logical fallacy to pander with.

Ok.... so @AWP about your 13M delta in voting... where did those votes go?

I am sure you've seen the graphs, and the numbers and the videos, I won't bore you.

There were 81 million Democratic voters in 2020 and 68 million now. Did those registered voters stay home? Why were we told that voter turnout and registration were at an all-time high? Those voters did not flip to Republican, so, no kidding, where is that delta?

I understand that you think covid was the culprit (so do I for very different reasons); but the first question is, "Where did those voters go"?

Could be any number of causes like staying home which is what I think happened, by and large. Trump's numbers changed little from 2020 to 2024. She'll probably pick up a few million by the time the count is done, but she'll still have taken a beating from Trump. Considering her numbers are in line with 2016, Obama's 66 million in 2012, 69 in 2008, McCain at 60, Romney at 61, 62/59 in 2004...the numbers are pretty consistent.

People were emotionally worked up and had all day to to vote. I don't see Democrats manufacturing 14 million or so votes in 2020, have 4 years to perfect the grift, and then lose in 2024.

The argument from many leftist (not liberal) commentators for years has been that the huge surge in voting wasn't for the Dems but was AGAINST Trump.

The American people are (as a whole) shortsighted when it comes to Presidental elections. If things are bad enough in the year or so before an election, we tend to switch parties.

COVID got people voting. It might have been the lockdowns making people more aware of the election, expanded mail/early voting capturing more people, etc, but it happened.

Early data says we should be right back to our ~40% average of non-voters. (That's a crazy amount of people not involved in their country btw.)
