They have to have special tires due to the extra weight and to ensure a more efficient roll. You can put other tires on them but the tire life will be shorter and if it has a more aggressive tread, less efficiency.

She has a nail in her right rear tire. Too easy, I'll take it and have the tire patched and be on my way.

Teslas do not have spare tires nor do they come with a lug wrench or even the lug nut key socket or whatever it is called. Nothing. You have to take it to the dealer because Teslas have special or proprietary or whatever lug nuts. Regardless, you don't just take it to a tire place to be patched or even replace the tires. No way to change the tire, no tire anyway, and nonstandard lug nuts? This is enough of a problem aftermarket kits exist to provide something that shitty little company does not.
